Lebron has the same number o titles and fmvp's, three more regular season mvp's, more first team all nba selections, same amount of all defense first team selections. Lebron's career numbers in the regular and postseaon are right there and in some case better than Hakeem. Lebron has certainly done more and will only continue to create further separation from Hakeem.y2ktors wrote:No he hasn't. Lebron doesn't have the longevity nor does he have the upper hand on defense. He also stacked himself on a team to win while Hakeem Olajuwon did far more with less help in 1994: MVP, DPOY and FMVP. No other player has ever done that. He also finished his career in the top 10 in 4 major categories: pts, blks, rebs and steals. No other player has done that.
And in terms of career totals, Lebron's career isn't over yet and i think it's likely he finishes high on all those lists.
His career still being far from incomplete is why I don't put him in the top 10.

Just posted this in a different thread but...
Think I have to give the nod to Lebron over Hakeem by a hair. Hakeem's stats, defense, and accolades are ridiculous and him and Lebron both have 2 rings and 2 FMVPs. But LeBron James' matches him in overall game (offense, defense, playmaking, leadership) and his 4 MVPs gives him a slight edge. Plus his career is still going so the story isn't over yet.
No disrespect to The Dream by any means but give me LBJ at 10. Hakeem at 11.

You can't compare centers to guards and forwards when you're talking about all-nba and defensive selections. Centers only have 1 spot per team while guards and forwards have two.876Stephen wrote:Lebron has the same number o titles and fmvp's, three more regular season mvp's, more first team all nba selections, same amount of all defense first team selections. I agree that Hakeem is a slightly better defender than a prime Lebron. But i'm just saying that it's not that huge of separation between them in that category.y2ktors wrote:You can't compare centers to guards and forwards when you're talking about all-nba and defensive selections. TDK & Bulls fans worst nightmare coming true - LeBron has entered Top 10 all-time territory.
Re: 2014 Anger General Top Ten Greatest of All Time #10
Dream has 2 DPOY awards. He's the all-time leader in blocks and is the only big in the top 10 in steals. There a huge gap between the two.876Stephen wrote:I agree that Hakeem is a slightly better defender than a prime Lebron. Indeed. Slightly better? Come on now. Hakeem at his best routinely averaged 4-5-6 blocks a game/14-16rpg some playoffs when the competition was tougher. Dude just owned the paint.y2ktors wrote:Dream has 2 DPOY awards. He's the all-time leader in blocks and is the only big in the top 10 in steals. Lebron was the best perimeter defender in the league the past couple of seasons. When he was locked in, there was no one like him.y2ktors wrote:Dream has 2 DPOY awards. And i probably exagerrated a little. Hakeem is a better defender than Lebron.

No disrespect to anyone these lists are all subjective. BUT I think some ppl need to go do some extra research on Hakeem Olajuwon's career Beyond just the Rings and mvps.

It's all good bro. Honestly, I can actually see lebron as a top 5 GOAT before it's all done.876Stephen wrote:Lebron was the best perimeter defender in the league the past couple of seasons. I know his first title was won with not that much help, but his second title he had a lot more help, more than what Lebron had in Cleveland for 7 years.

He had Clyde for the second one for sure. But Lebron had good enough teams the last 2 years in Cleveland to make it past the teams that he lost to. I'll never be convinced that he didn't have "enough" help those last 2 years. They just disappointed.876Stephen wrote:Like?y2ktors wrote:No disrespect to anyone these lists are all subjective.
