From this group, I'll think a little more, but seems like it has to be DJ, right?

I'll go with DJ as well. I know sexier choices will likely win this round but his all round game including superb defense helped a lot of teams win a lot of games.

He put up some very good seasons prior to his Celtics stint, that people may not think about at first. All NBA, all defense, finals mvp.

Dennis Johnson resume:

9 All-Defense selections (six 1st team)
2 All-NBA selections (one 1st team)
1 NBA Finals MVP
3 NBA championships (playing as starting PG for 2 different teams)

Again, like last round with Rodman, DJ is by far the most decorated player left on the board. He was an important cog in 3 NBA titles and one of the best defensive PGs in the history of the game.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are dumber than that.

Offensively, DJ is clearly behind all of these guys. Defensively, he's definitely ahead of these guys.

On hardware alone, DJ has the advantage.

Now here's the thing:

Was DJ a really good player that succeeded in optimum circumstances or is he really that much better than the rest of the candidates?

Again, I'm going with Reggie Miller, ringless and all. This isn't to say that DJ was not worthy of this spot but rather I feel that Miller should go ahead of him.

Reggie.

He was the top dog in Indiana for 18 seasons....DJ wasn't really.

DJ way better defender than Reggie but Reggie on the same hand is the way better shooter and scorer.

Reggie is the Better Player, same with Ray Allen. And this is nothing against DJ.

Nominate Steph Curry.

At what point do short careers with significant accomplishments like winning mvp and being clear lead dog on a historic title winning team, GOAT shooter etc, trump long careers of nothingness like dantley, mcgrady, english and even reggie miller to a certain extent?
