It was a fine choice.
There are some things you could say for Tatum, but Brown was better at the more critical junctures of the series. Tatum finishing the series stronger (and I guess playing better in the loss) shouldn't override that without massive, massive quantitative differences in performance (which didn't happen here).

Does it matter? Tatum is their most important player, but not by a big margin. They are an extremely balanced team with no real weakness.

They played pretty even. Tatum had better averages, Brown had a bit better efficiency. It was a coin flip.

It's a very huge deal to Madness, but otherwise I don't care. The difference was minutiae. Brown shot worse from 3 & the line than Tatum, Tatum led the team in PPG/RPG/APG. Brown took on defending Luka more though. Hope they can stay together for awhile, especially with Porzingis.
