I was going to post something like Zombies did.

Supply/demand is the primary driver, but the demand being driven mostly by retard, psychological things.

One of my coworkers actually lives in NYC and works in NJ about 50 miles away. She only comes into the office 3x a week or so, but still...I can't imagine that. And she's actually extremely smart and not frivolous.

In SoCal I had a coworker that referred to his dogs as his furbabies, no troll. I gave him the crazy eyes until he turned away.

From my experience those that talk about how they “love the hustle and bustle” of a big city are usually the ones that are shut ins and hardly go out and when they do they are bouncing by 9pm.

They just like saying they live in a big city and pretend it makes them look tolerant and diverse even though they live and hang out in the white areas and only interact with white people.

That sabetour guy is a prime example.

I did my undergrad in Manhattan then lived in Harlem & Hells Kitchen for a short time after. Rent was definitely outrageous even back then, and if you somehow don't have roommates then mommy & daddy are definitely the guarantors on your place - like I'm sure this girl in the OP has at her disposal.

I enjoy my dogs, but not a chance to either one.
