MLB Postseason 2020 Thread
So far this Braves lineup is getting absolutely raw dogged up the ass by Trevor Bauer who is spinning a perfecto.

Bad baserunning + bad luck + bad fielding + bad calls + embarrassingly bad hitting + opponent game-winning HR = routine playoff game for the Minnesota Twins.
18 playoff losses in a row... pro sports record.

A-Rod could be the worst color guy I've ever heard. He actually used to be good but he's trying so hard to be tony romo now, it's embarrassing.

Haven't scored more than 4 runs in a playoff game since 2004 (15 games).

Trying to predict pitches before they happen?

Meanwhile... the Twins gave up 18 runs in the 9th inning (or later) during that time...
Other fun stats:
Twins 24 - 7 at home.
Astros 9 - 23 on the road. (now 11 - 23)
Twins 1st team to get swept in opening round after winning 100 games.
Twins 1st team to get swept to a team below .500.
Twins on a stretch where they've gone 3 - 25 in the playoffs ... with 18 straight losses.
________
And let's not forget... the Wolves have two playoff series wins (same season) in 31 years... and one playoff game (appearance) in 17 seasons.
Conversely... LeBron James' teams have won 30 playoff series in the past 10 seasons.

Jays down 7-0 in the second inning. Yikes. Ah well, still overachieved for the year and the future is blindingly bright.

That’s not necessary. There are cheap shots, and then there’s just low class stuff like this that just isn’t a good look for anybody involved.

Doesn't look like the Cubs will hand the Marlins their first postseason series loss in franchise history. This inconsistent lineup keeps me up at night.

That base running gaffe by Buxton was awful too. Yikes.

The entire Buxton thing was weird. He took himself out of the game mysteriously? The guy sure seems to be injured a lot.
[Note: And as for base-running... the Twins have lost playoff games before in this streak for some astoundingly stupid baserunning gaffes. I'm looking at you Nick Punto...]

Predicting pitches yes, it's cringe as hell when we can all see the signs being called and where the catcher is setting up. Then afterwards if he calls it right he'll go "yup" to self congratulate.PhutureDynasty wrote:What is he doing that's like Romo?kobeunderbite wrote:A-Rod could be the worst color guy I've ever heard. He's over analyzing everything. On a strikeout and steal of second he began screaming about the batter interfering with the catcher who didn't attempt a throw and speculating that ATL would protest and call for the runner to be called out for interference. Meanwhile the braves were conducting a mound visit and had long since moved on. No indication anyone had thought the batter had interfered but him.
He doesn't understand how to call a game. He thinks he needs to break down every situation. Runners on the corners and he starts to explain that a ball hit sharply may result in a throw home, but softer contact might result in a dp. As if any jackass watching a REDS-BRAVES game in the middle of the afternoon is new to the game. He desperately wants to be tony romo, but baseball doesn't work that way.
A good color guy might break down a swing or second guess a call to the bullpen but is really there to tell stories and secrets of the game or sprinkle in some anecdotal goodies. I would think after 20 years as a player that kind of commentary wouldn't be beyond Alex. Just a complete embarrassment.

I always prefer the baseball commentators who aren't afraid of silence. We don't need you talking every second of free air time because you can. When you talk less your words carry more meaning than if you won't shutup.
