Re: Floyd vs Conor 2 set to happen...
For all the complaints, I'll still watch. And even with extremely watered-down rules, I think Conor might take this one. Mayweather is arguably the greatest boxer of all-time, but we've never seen him fight even a little bit out of his comfort zone.
Fear is the mind killer. We are not afraid.
Re: Floyd vs Conor 2 set to happen...
So if Conor beats mayweather... It's the same as him beating him in boxing.

Conor isn’t beating Floyd if only punches and “some” clinching is involved. But people thinking McNugget can pull it off is why it’ll make another gazillion dollars.
Re: Floyd vs Conor 2 set to happen...
Prove it. That’s the funny thing about these situations, it’s all just speculation. Floyd literally toyed with McNugget once and he’ll do it again in the Octagon. People automatically assume Floyd wouldn’t land a sharp bare knuckle shot to Conor’s chin in a “real fight”. Everyone hits hard at the professional level, yes even Floyd. Otherwise his opponents would just walk through his shots and rough him up. There’s a reason guys would get countered and then stop advancing against Floyd.Max. wrote:I'm knocking anyone's hustle(Floyd, Conor, Dana), but lets not get it twisted. Floyd knocks out Conor again IMO.

I get that he's a great boxer, one of the best. But your bias is showing.
Wait... are we talking about Floyd vs Conor? Or Floyd against much heavier “average bar tough guys”? By that logic Conor would get the shit slapped out of him by bigger, stronger guys. Right?

Lol this thread is about Floyd vs Conor. I could care less how either would do against some drunk at a bar, or a 275lbs pro football player, or against a tough guy mafia enforcer, etc.
Re: Floyd vs Conor 2 set to happen...
We’ll never know what Conor would or wouldn’t do. He’s not Khabib in there, he’s known for his knockout punches. Maybe if he wins he can demand a third fight and set the rules. All he has to do is beat a guy that’s 41 and will be about 10-15lbs smaller on fight night.

If there were no rules what’s to stop Floyd from smashing a bottle over Conor’s head? Or gouging his eyes and then kneeing him in the balls?
That’s the issue I take with everyone who says they know what would happen in a real fight. No one knows what would happen in a real fight between these two because real life is chaotic and unpredictable. MMA fans love to say mixed martial artists would win against boxers in a real fight but they actually mean according to MMA rules. With full blown MMA rules I’d give Conor the edge against Floyd, in boxing or semi-boxing like this upcoming fight I have Floyd winning easily, and in a real fight there’s literally no way to determine who does what.
I know you’re no McNugget fan/Floyd hater, but you’re arguing like one. Conor fans know their boy is about to get bitch slapped again so they make up hypotheticals and unprovable scenarios in order to make themselves feel better.

Re: Floyd vs Conor 2 set to happen...
It's always amusing when boxing fans pretends like we don't have a nearly 100 year history of Vale Tudo fights to draw from, so they can play make-believe that in a *real* fight a boxer has an equal chance against a grappler or MMAist because "we can't know what will happen".
I guess we can't say Floyd will beat some fat nerd who swings a plastic sword around because after all, the nerd *could* potentially have a gun and shoot Floyd...so basically in a real fight boxing isn't any different than fat nerds swinging around plastic swords, right?

Do you think boxers can hang with MMA fighters in a MMA match? Sure 1 out 10 or 1 out of 20 might get lucky and land a dream punch, but if we're talking about 5 rounds of pure MMA vs a pure boxer, that boxer is going to get his legs mauled by kicks until he's crippled and can't walk anymore and then get pounced on and pummeled to death.
LOL at you desperately and OH SO THIRSTY to try and convince us boxing is "where it's at" in combat sports. The sport is lame and so are you.

The fuck is vale tudo? And how many elite pro boxers competed in it?
Asking for a friend.

I literally didn’t read your post, my homo friend. Your knowledge of combat sports is pedestrian at best and usually a waste of my time.

Not following the discussion in here but why wouldn't this fight happen? Does anyone think that Conor and Floyd would turn down hundreds of millions of dollars for an hour of work?

Jesus LNS, just hang your hat on boxing being a bigger sport (after a 100 year head start) and having more of the heavy-heavy hitters in terms of earnings than MMA.
This bit where you pretend boxers are on par with MMAists in terms of *fighting* is really weird.
Like on the level of Artman saying the Magic are going to dominate this year (or any year).

It all just depends on the fighters, fella. MMA fans get worked up over a 41 year old tiny black guy slapping around their superstar, that’s undeniable. So in retort they bitch and moan and create hypotheticals. Where here’s a news flash: I don’t care what you kids think might happen in your little what if’s.... but it’s still fun pushing those buttons over it.
I’ve literally called Khabib pound for pound the most dangerous man alive, so it’s not like I’m unaware of the benefits of elite grappling. But I don’t think grappling>>>striking just because some Brazilians beat up some shitty strikers back in the day.
