How tall would you have to be...

Average NBA height is a shade under 6'6 so you'd have to be a tangible difference, height wise, to get a look if you were unknown to scouts. My guess is that would start in the 6'10 to 7 foot range

Apparently, the OP was too complicated for Griff.

I can dunk fairly easily but I'd still need several more inches to make a roster.

You've gained A LOT of weight though. You sure you can still dunk?
[Note: Remember when you claimed I couldn't even get a shot off against you? Good stuff...]

I used to drink a lot.
To be fair I could block you too.

7'2" or taller. I like to tell myself 6'3" or taller, but realistically, I'd have to lean on Frank Layden's, "You can't coach height" to make the end of an NBA roster.

Re: How tall would you have to be...
I still don't know my answer. But here's some more context:
- Athleticism. I can't jump. And I have a shorter wingspan (relative to height) than every NBA player.
That made me realize it's not just about height. I could be 6'10" but lose rebounds to a 6'7" long-armed freak like Draymond Green. Heck, Robert Covington (76ers) is listed at 6'9" and plays on the wing. His wingspan is that of a 7'2" guy. WHAT? Want more... Cody Zellar is 7'0" AND had the best vertical jump at the 2013 NBA combine... also had the best shuttle run time. Also was one of the strongest players there. And it's not like he's worthless offensively. He can shoot at least a bit... shooting about 75% from line in college and in the pros. But despite that extreme athleticism and legit skill, he's just a starter, often forgotten as "just a guy".
- Fat. I'm not fat. Heck, at 6'0" and about 175 pounds, I'm probably considered skinny if anything. But Nerlens Noel and Rudy Gobert (7'9" wingspan) have 4.15% and 4.4% bodyfat respectively.

In the 90s you could make it at 5'3. I don't there is player that gets major ptime under 6 feet.

Just noticed the 90s reference and the typo... my apologies if you were imitating Arty...
