Zeke.
I don't understand the Ewing love. A few Ewing facts:
- Only made one 1st team All NBA.
- Played in one Finals. 19 ppg / 36% fg. Gave up 27/9 to Olajuwon.
- Averaged less than 10 rebounds for his career (9.8).
- His team made the Finals in '99 AFTER her got injured.
- Stats dropped in the playoffs. As did efficiency.
He was noted for being very good... but a step below the best. I think at #28... we're still talking about the "Best." Heck, we have 4 PGs... 3 with rings who I feel are more worthy candidates here. Thomas. Frazier. Cousy. Stockton.

From 1988-94, Isiah didn't make a single all-nba team.
Ewing has 6 all-nba 2nd team selections. Isiah only has 5 CAREER all-nba selections.
Ewing has 3 2nd team all-defensive selections. Isiah has zero defensive team selections.
Centers are at a disadvantage vs guards and forwards when it comes to all-nba and all defensive team selection awards but Ewing still has the advantage.

True. Those of us who voted for Isiah before Abe said his piece are also wise. Not quite as wise as Abe, undoubtedly, but still wise.elmouse03 wrote:I voted for Isiah because I wanted to. Re: 2014 Anger General Greatest of All Time #28
For the record regarding Ewing in 1999, he actually admirably played through the first 3 1/2 series' of the postseason despite his achilles injury, and only shut it down with the ECF tied 1-1. The Knicks finished 4-5 without him.
He didn't play remarkably well in that run (13/8.7 on 43%), but he was banged up pretty good, and I doubt that the Knicks squeak by Miami without him around to keep Mourning reasonably in-check.

I think we are finally in a space where I can give it to Isiah.
I hope Bob Cousy isn't too far behind.
