Any list without either Happy Days or Mash is bull fucking shit. Hell, Mork and Mindy was better part of this list.

The Simpsons was valid before it destroyed itself for going on 25 seasons of horrible episodes. South Park is for edgy teenagers. The rest of TDK's list is hilariously bad.

I've only watched 13 of those shows. Guess I'm missing out.

It's funny, I've watched maybe 100 short clips of The Wire over the years sufficient to the point where I've probably seen the essence of the series without buying a full episode or watching when originally aired.

I’m in the same boat with the sopranos although I’ve seen a few full episodes here and thereBush4Ever. wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 9:03 am It's funny, I've watched maybe 100 short clips of The Wire over the years sufficient to the point where I've probably seen the essence of the series without buying a full episode or watching when originally aired.

Somehow avoided ever seeing an episode or even any clips from Friends until the one dude died and they started popping up all over Insta. Didn’t seem like I missed out on anything.

South Park is a GOAT. The fact that they write and produce the bulk of their episodes in a week about current topics is amazingkobeunderbite wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 12:05 am The Simpsons was valid before it destroyed itself for going on 25 seasons of horrible episodes. I was assuming they weren't counting cartoons/animation.
If they were, then South Park not being on the list is criminal.
Not *quite* the peak of The Simpsons, but goofy better quality longevity.

Re: Ranking the best TV shows all-time
I'm probably being too harsh on South Park and The Simpsons but they have been so mid to awful for so long that I have a bad taste in my mouth for both shows. Although The Simpsons S2-7 is probably the best run of television ever.

It’s one of those shows that I’ve always meant to watch but never get around to. It seems very… urban.Bush4Ever. wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 9:03 am It's funny, I've watched maybe 100 short clips of The Wire over the years sufficient to the point where I've probably seen the essence of the series without buying a full episode or watching when originally aired.

I missed the boat on The Wire by like 20 years. Recently I gave S1E1 a chance and couldn’t get over how unauthentic the acting was by those thugs in the project.

Season 1 of The Wire is one of my favorite seasons in any show.lettherebehouse wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 1:35 pm I missed the boat on The Wire by like 20 years. Recently I gave S1E1 a chance and couldn’t get over how unauthentic the acting was by those thugs in the project.
My recommendation would be to give it a chance again. If season 1 doesn't have you hooked then you don't have to continue.
Re: Ranking the best TV shows all-time
I actually tried to watch it too and gave up after an episode or two. I think I got to when the two cops are getting drunk near the train tracks before I was like “aaaannnnd I’m out”.PhutureDynasty wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 1:40 pmSeason 1 of The Wire is one of my favorite seasons in any show.lettherebehouse wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 1:35 pm I missed the boat on The Wire by like 20 years. for the uninformed: They literally hired thugs from the projects to play the thugs from the projects.
The Wire was awesome. Should be #2 or 3
