Another time some Hasidic looking Jew was arguing with a black guy, I'm minding my business but watching closely in case I need to step in and help my brother. The black guy gets up, walks right up to me, points his finger at me and says "talk to your friend." I stared him down and laughed right in his face, he stalked off.

Just curious… but how did he know you were also Jewish?

The Jew didn't identify me, the black guy did. Although I have no doubt the Jew might have been able to as well. I've had Israelis or American Jews come up to me and start speaking Hebrew out of nowhere.

Black people in NYC have an innate ability to identify Jews. It doesn't happen like that in any other state or country.

I reject the notion that someone looks Jewish though I do understand rhe notion of looking Jewish. With all that being said you don't look Jewish. I don't see how you were "clocked".

Just as an example, most people who walk down Canal Street will start being bombarded by black people who want them to come to the back of their store to buy their knockoff Gucci stuff or whatever. Especially back in the day before the cops started paying at least a little attention. They don't even come near me, they can tell that I'm Jewish and know I would outmaneuver the fuck out of them and they have no chance of ripping me off.

It's been ages since I have been to Shea or the old Yankeee Stadium. A long time ago my aunt told me she was on the subway and saw a Black guy kick an Hasidic man in the ass for no reason. I guess the transit cops can't be everywhere. It's been a good while since I rode the L A Metro but I saw several story worth incidents including a gangbanger brandishinging a gun. He pulled our his gun to where you could see rhe revolver sticking out above the belt buckle. Also saw racially motivated fights and almost fights.
