Re: Did we see a lot of centers making passes like this in the 90's?
We don't see "a lot of Centers" today make those passes, just Joker... and of course he benefits immensely from the floor being soooo spaced. Try making that pass (from that spot on the floor) in the 80's - 00's, when the court was much more cluttered due to the game being played inside-out as opposed to outside-in today, and the ball would literally clank off the heads of at least 2-3 players and ricochet out of bounds for a Turnover... unless you've got Magic or Larry-type Passing skills, which Joker doesn't.
Anyway, point is the 80's-00's NBA was a completely different style of game with completely different rules. Anyone who knows anything whatsoever about basketball should know this... and those who don't should refrain from comment on the topic until they educate themselves on the history of the league.
Real spit right there...

As much as you modern clowns want to dismiss the previous generation, you can't compare eras. I'd argue of the players back in the 90's were in their primes and had the benefits of modern medicine and equipment etc, it would be a vastly superior product to this pathetic bullshit masquerading as pro basketball today. Its a weak chuckfest with no defense and refs blowing whistles whenever they feel like it.
I can't believe there are idiots that defend this putrid garbage.

You always come up with the weirdest ways of saying that players in the 80s/90s were not skilled enough to shoot 3s lolthedangerouskitchen wrote: ↑Fri Mar 28, 2025 10:47 am floor being soooo spaced. Today's players MISS (on average) 65% of their long-range shots, and you call that "skill"???LeBronMonsterDunk wrote: ↑Fri Mar 28, 2025 11:31 amYou always come up with the weirdest ways of saying that players in the 80s/90s were not skilled enough to shoot 3s lolthedangerouskitchen wrote: ↑Fri Mar 28, 2025 10:47 am floor being soooo spaced. If you think missing 65% of your shots from 3 is a bad thing, then you also have to think shooting 52.5% from 2 is a bad thing. So dick sucker, is shooting 52.5% from 2 a bad thing or no?
Any reply that isn't a yes or no will be considered an admission of being a faggot fyi.

Well said... today's product is so predicatable with 70% of the shots either coming at the rim or from long-range, where the average player MISSES 65% of the time (which is even more pathetic when you consider the vast majority of those shots are uncontested due to all the Spacing on the floor and, as you noted, no Defense played).xer0 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 28, 2025 11:26 am As much as you modern clowns want to dismiss the previous generation, you can't compare eras. 90's ball featured a little bit of everything, which means players had to be more skilled and fundamentally sound to be able to execute in the half-court, physical grind it out style OR the open floor run-gun style. Players had to be able to post-up, shoot the mid-range, shoot from deep (latter half of the decade anyway), play consistent defense, battle down low for Rebounds, pass/dribble/move in heavy traffic, etc.
Today if you can shoot the 3 ball at a 35% clip there's a roster spot for you.

You said 90's players weren't skilled enough to shoot the 3 (like the players of today) yet they shot 33%-34% during the decade vs. 35%-36% today. In other words if today's players really are so much more skilled they would be shooting considerably better, not just a pecentage or two higher.

Players were barely guarded at the 3-point line in the 80's & 90's.
Now CENTERS are being guarded 26 feet from the basket.
So, yes, shooting 2-3% better now (while being fiercely guarded all around the arc), is VASTLY more impressive than shooting 2-3% worse while being left wide open.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are dumber than that.

One thing we didn’t see in the 90’s was MJ losing a game he lead by 18 points in the 4th quarter, lol.

MJ was a nightmare on elm street when he went left but he’s still the GOAT!

Fact is you Modern Era fans love to pretend everybody shoots like prime Steph Curry, when in reality the league shoots 35%-36% in an Era where the perimeter defender can't lay a finger on you... which makes that % actually pretty embarrassing considering most of the players in the NBA have been chuckin' the 3 ball since they've been old enough to dribble. In other words the league-average should be MUCH higher.

Wait, what? Are you saying Jordan couldn't go Left? if so, nothing could be further from the truth. He was equally explosive off the dribble going right or left, same in the post with his trademark turnaround.Alex_Murphy wrote: ↑Fri Mar 28, 2025 6:43 pm MJ was a nightmare on elm street when he went left but he’s still the GOAT!
