This will take his career earnings over $480 million

Not bad for a guy who has never seen the NBA Finals

Shouldn't be too bad so long as he accepts his role as eating third there. But also how many games their big three can even last on the court together.

Joel's window is now so we have to assist him in that.

We are now a better team than before this move. It comes down to health for the roster.

Not sure if this puts us with Boston (or even New York) for the East but it's a move that had to be done to give us a chance.

PG had no choice. Magic chose kcp instead before they met with PG and made it clear they weren't gonna drop max on PG since they have 27 million left to spend. Sixers were his only option/suckers at that point

Did the cap rules change? How they have enough money to give another max? Thought sixers already had one of the most experience payrolls in the league

We dumped Tobias Harris and some other cap space to free up enough to do something this off-season.

Also, we are able to go over the cap with Maxey because of the rules with free agent signings happening before you extend players you already have the rights to.

Maxey was an RFA so we had his rights.

If we did it in the opposite order (Maxey first) then we wouldn't be have been able to sign Paul George.

They came into the offseason with only 2 players under contact, Embiid and Paul Reed.

Paul George has participated in 3 playoff series wins in the past 10 seasons while playing alongside the likes of Russell Westbrook and Kawhi Leonard.

I almost feel bad for Embiid. Almost...
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are dumber than that.

maxey, george, embiid, if healthy are almost a shoe in for the finals. but i'm still partial to the celtics who didn't have a fully healthy porzingis and 4-1 the best team out west.

If healthy they're in the mix. Boston is still better and New York is too.

I don't think it's a shoe in.

George and Embiid WILL make the finals next year.

It’s already a done deal. November - May next year is simply a formality.
