Tatum is not a " great" player
He's a good player but nowhere near one of the best in the nba.
3rd tier maybe
He may even have the kobe syndrome where he only shines when a game or series is well decided and his team is up big. Or heavily favored.
Not the type who can overcome or perform against the odds or when not favored

Tatum is the new generation pg. amazing two way talent that settles for bad shots. Tatum is a much better help defender while pg was better on ball but roughly even, Tatum is better in the mid range but pg was better at getting to the hoop and didn’t jack as many stupid pull up 3s. Both easily top 10 guys in the league in their primes, but better suited to be an amazing 1b/2 than being the number 1
