That would be a good selection, Carson is a good speaker and has principled American values and common sense. He's never really wavered on his politics. Can't wait to have Trump back into office, we have ALOT of things to fix from this current rancid, filth administration.

Interesting.

I was thinking it would be JD Vance, but I haven't thought about it much.

I wonder about Carson's ability to energize and move people. I think he's a much greater man than he would be a politician.

In any event, after Trump wins, Artman will be deported, and rightfully so, and that's the most important thing.

From my incredibly valuable perspective, the other half of the ticket should ultimately be someone who balances Trump as well as ideally touches a non-white demographic. I penalize Vivek, Vance, etc. because I don't know if you want to double down on aggressive populism, so much as you want to calm the fears of people who think Trump is a demon. In which case I think that Carson is sort of like an even calmer, more intelligent, blacker version of Pence. He appeals to blacks by being black, and white women by being a soft-spoken pediatric neurosurgeon. And removing the numbers and election from the equation, most importantly, Carson is one of the (very) few who has remained steadfastly loyal to Trump throughout each crisis, pretty much since 2015, despite being invited to insult or condemn Trump on a very regular basis.

I despise identity politics but if republicans don’t want to keep losing it’s time to play that game and embrace it.

Black people already realizing how much better off they were and leaning towards Trump in record numbers, once they see this smooth brother as the second in command it will be game over for the Dems.

I guess it's perspective on getting new people vs. regaining people that he lost 2016 vs. 2020.

IIRC, Trump gained relative advantage with women (and I think Hispanics majorly and Blacks to a small degree) 2016 vs. 2020 but lost relative ground with White men (and White people overall) in that same span by a meaningful amount.

He needs to get back Wisconsin/Michigan/Penn/Georgia. Possibly three out of the four. He certainly needs at least two. Wisconsin and Michigan are of particular interest IMO (I think GA goes hard to Trump and PA stays Biden, albeit to a lesser degree than 2020).

Regarding Carson, I don't think Black people will be meaningfully moved over and above whatever Trump himself brings to the table, simply because Carson is Black. People confuse "Blacks vote for Blacks" with "Blacks vote for the bucket of things associated with Democrats". Do you think Hermain Cain would have beaten Bernie Sanders in an election among Black people, or even move the margin of advantage in a meaningful way? I'm skeptical. Of course, combining a Black politician *with* democrat policies can boost things (ala Obama), but the driver is the stuff, not the race.

I sort of feel the same way about people with TDS. I don't think Carson being added really moves those people mentally and emotionally because Trump himself casts such a large shadow and motivates activation of their mental disorders, which mostly stem from unresolved childhood trauma and alpha-envy. Women are especially prone to TDS as a function of being mentally retarded on an emotional and political front (on average of course).

I don't see Carson being a needle-mover on this, despite being a great man. That's not a knock on him, it's just the situation itself, and Trump being such a force of nature that it's hard to contribute over-and-above him. Obviously I hope I'm wrong.

That's my completely out-of-the-butt-not-specifically-studying-the-issue-gut-feeling analysis.

Fear of what?
So you think a president who inspired fear and not confidence and hope from Americans is a good thing?

Good post. No VP pick seems to ever be a serious needle-mover beyond a temporary excitement bump, but I think it makes more sense to try to shore up the 'Trump is Hitler' weakness with a safe and calm VP. Leaving demographics aside, it's easier for me to imagine someone who is fed up with Biden, but skeptical of Trump not being Hitler, being in part convinced to vote for Trump because he has a safe VP, than it is for me to imagine a disenfranchised Trumpy being won back because he picked a Trump stooge senator or a wacky Indian Trumpy. I've never encountered online or otherwise a Vivek/Vance supporter or someone of that ilk who otherwise would not already clearly be voting for Trump. Picking a mini-Trump will make it easier for the MSM to drive home the Hitler narrative while at the same time losing out on potential appeal to blacks and white women with a calm black, at least on a marginal level.

Playing the game would be Republicans being explicitly pro-White the way Democrats are explicitly anti-White. This is contingent to some extent on White people being significantly less pathetic and pathologically suicidal on racial matters.

White people have been (+ for Reps):

2008: +12
2012: +20
2016: +20
2020: +17

Black people have been (- for Reps):

2008: -91
2012: -87
2016: -81
2020: -75

Hispanics have gone as extreme as -44 (mostly in the mid -30s or so) from 2008 to 2020:
Asians more or less equal to Hispanics.

White people splitting their vote in a meaningful way while non-Whites vote for the anti-White party in the extreme is going to increasingly make things difficult as demographics shift even more in the future. Motivating White people to stop being pussies is more likely (IMO) to bear fruit than trying to bait non-based non-Whites into voting against Democrats. IMO of course.

This is where I'm skeptical.

Would a person with Hitler Derangement Syndrome vote for a Hitler/Gandhi ticket?

I don't think Carson will do this, even on a marginal level, because the Trump effect is too strong (in both good and bad).

But I guess that's an open question on the margins, like you said at the end. Maybe I'm too cynical on race/women issues when it comes to voting, after a generation of watching women be retarded and non-Whites crushingly vote against Republicans.

I will say if it doesn't happen in *this* election, it ain't ever happening. You'd be hard-pressed to find a situation more ripe for crossing-over than this one (shitty old White President, gangsta opponent, tangible evidence of how each person impacted their personal lives, alpha energy vs. dementia energy, etc...).
