Did you see any of Felix's match KUB? Last two matches he's been as good as he's ever been.

Felix's backhand was looking better than normal, but it was offset a bit by his worsening forehand and increase in unforced errors.

He looks nice, his serve +1 is really developing into a weapon. But I expect him to go down in 3 or 4 vs. Thiem. He basically had a walkover vs. Murray, and as good as he has looked, to me the Sandgren loss was more telling than what we've seen through three rounds. Moutet was inept. I would love to see Shapo vs. Djokovic, but Denis hasn't shown me enough to overlook Goffin.

The angle I saw the replay from the ball didn't even look like it hit her, but she crumbed to the ground. Did she...flop to get him ejected? :o

It wasn't intentional but he definitely got her in the throat. The rule is the rule but for tennis fans, it sucks.

It's not even a rule. In Cincinnati a camera guy was hit and nothing happened because he was fine. See below. That old bitch having a sperg attack is what did Nole in.

Really lame. But still, Novak reaps what he sows. He was in trouble anyway, you could see he wasn't doing well mentally and had just slammed a ball into a side panel moments earlier. And he looked to have seriously hurt his shoulder as well.

...

N. ABUSE OF BALLS

Players shall not violently, dangerously or with anger hit, kick or throw a tennis ball within the precincts of the tournament site except in the reasonable pursuit of a point during a match (including warm-up).
Violation of this Section shall subject a player to fine up to $20,000 for each violation. In addition, if such violation occurs during a match (including the warmup) the player shall be penalised in accordance with the Point Penalty Schedule hereinafter set forth.
For the purposes of this Rule, abuse of balls is defined as intentionally hitting a ball out of the enclosure of the court, hitting a ball dangerously or recklessly within the court or hitting a ball with negligent disregard of the consequences.

Q. PHYSICAL ABUSE

Players shall not at any time physically abuse any official, opponent, spectator or other person within the precincts of the tournament site.
Violation of this Section shall subject a player to a fine up to $20,000 for each violation. In addition, if such violation occurs during a match (including the warmup), the player shall be penalised in accordance with the Point Penalty Schedule hereinafter set forth. In circumstances that are flagrant and particularly injurious to the success of a tournament, or are singularly egregious, a single violation of this Section shall also constitute the Major Offence of “Aggravated Behaviour” and shall be subject to the additional penalties hereinafter set forth.
For the purposes of this Rule, physical abuse is the unauthorised touching of an official, opponent, spectator or other person.

The player shall be penalized according to the Point Penalty Schedule. This is what the Point Penalty Schedule mandates:

S. POINT PENALTY SCHEDULE

The Point Penalty Schedule to be used for violations set forth above is as follows:

FIRST offence: WARNING
SECOND offence: POINT PENALTY
THIRD AND EACH SUBSEQUENT offence: GAME PENALTY

However, after the third Code Violation, the Referee in consultation with the Grand Slam Chief of Supervisors shall determine whether each subsequent offence shall constitute a default.

Golden opportunity here, Carreno Busta + probably Zverev who can be a huge headcase. Not feeling as good about FAA vs. Thiem. But a great run for the two of them no matter what happens, and a 4R Pospisil's second best ever slam result. Quite a tourney for the Canadians, albeit without having any really wonderful wins as of yet. In general with almost everyone left 25 or under, a real changing of the guard of sorts in progress. But it's happening in a gay way.

I hate to be that guy, but it'll be tough to chalk this up as a legit slam no matter who wins. The last five titles here won by guys who either no showed or were DQ'd, - kind of a sad joke. But it's that kind of year. I really believed either Medvedev or Thiem could defeat Novak in a final here, now we'll never know.

French Open confirms up to 5,000 fans will be in attendance.

God damn it, Shapo is gonna blow his golden opportunity and lose to the boredom factory known as a Carreño Busta.

How the hell does Shapo keep missing those 73 mph second serves on a fucking tee? I swear most women have better second serves than that. He should have been hitting winners on them but he couldn’t even keep the ball in play on most.

Zverev has an easy road to the finals imo.

He and Felix are both very frustrating to watch. So much talent is evident at times, but frustrating inconsistencies and "spazz" moments. I think they are both gradually getting better but this one was tough. Shapo tightened up when it mattered most.

Thiem-Medvedev SF looking like the de facto final with how pedestrian Zverev continues to play, imo.

Time for the ladies to move to best of 1? What an absolute embarrassment this match is. Both Serena and Pironkova are completely gassed to start set 3, Pironkova collapsing on the court after a semi extended rally lol.
