In one month, coronavirus has set off more mass layoffs in Florida than the state had in all of 2019
In one month, coronavirus has triggered more mass layoffs and furloughs in Florida than the state saw in all of 2019. Already, it’s almost more mass job losses than Florida experienced over the past two years combined.
The numbers, based on an Orlando Sentinel analysis of state data, paint yet another grim picture of the toll the coronavirus outbreak has taken on a Florida workforce that just two months ago was experiencing the lowest unemployment rate in its history.
As of 5 p.m. Thursday, 23,867 workers were caught in one of the mass job cuts hitting Florida employers between March 19 and April 21, the most recent date for which data has been filed with the state. That’s compared to 13,002 in all of 2019 and 17,886 in all of 2018.
About 72% of coronavirus-related mass layoffs and furloughs are in the hotel and restaurant industry, as well as the arts, entertainment and recreation, and 42% are in the Central Florida region, including the Tampa Bay area.

I have a mortgage. Have car/truck payments.
I don't really use credit cards. In fact, I'm a bit of a dinosaur in that I use cash A LOT more than anybody else I know.

A city that revolves around theme parks can't survive when those theme parks are kaput.

Re: What's your credit limit?
Orlando in no way at all remotely revolves around theme parks...the southwest part of the city and outskirts is where the parks and the hotels are...rest of the city has no connection in any way at all..stop pushing bullshit and get a damn clue..you sound stupid as fuck while Orlando is doing just fine and you talking like we are falling apart....we aren't..we are doing way better than your shit city...which you keep deflecting from...kobeunderbite wrote:elartman1973 wrote:lol lol..its far from it but keep pushing lies...kobeunderbite wrote:Orlando is in shambles.

This surprises me. I virtually never use cash anymore for anything. It has to be a peculiar circumstance.AbeVigodaLive wrote:

For all recurring bills, I have them put on one of my credit cards which is then automatically paid (set up with my bank) the day it is due. I never pay interest to anybody for anything. I do the same in the US for my regular Arizona bills with my US bank. The points/cash back whatever might as well go to me. Don't turn down free money.
