John Starks averaged 14/3/4 during the 90's... the only folks who considered him "one of the better Guards in the 90's" were other meatballs like you. To the rest of us he was a solid role-player.

:L
He made an all star game, an all defensive team and won a sixth man of the year award.

In 94, he was an all star, the 2nd leading scorer on a Knicks team that won 57. He was a big part of the Knicks when they were the "challengers" (lol) to the Bulls in the 90s.

Could he make a roster in today's NBA? Probably, but he sure as hell isn't sniffing an all star game and is only a rotation player on a weak team.

"Today's NBA is soft, the Defense is weak, and the rules 'really' favor the Offense."

"Lebron doesn’t guard for a full game and our game plan was to get him to play defense and he left me open all game."

I’d prefer if there were more rivalries too… which is why everyone got hyped when Anthony Edwards was flapping his gums last post season. The defenses are playing catchup more often than not because there’s a lot more movement and space to cover. Guarding all the way to the 3pt line wasn’t as important in the 90s because back then being good at the 3-ball made you a “specialist”. Today damn near the entire league is decent at shooting from 3 and it has made teams harder to defend.
