Fellow Lakers fans.... would you be fine if we get no elite free agents this offseason?

Talk about anything here.

Durant and D'angelo could work assuming the OKC blueprint could be adopted by Russell, which I'm sure he wouldn't have a problem with. Them throwing max money at Derozan doe, would be a huge mistake. I like the idea of planting premium level seeds, and watching them grow into the greatness they were genetically destined for without the mudding of free agent instant quick fix contaminants (unless it's Durant).

Don't derail my thread with another aspy attack, sportswise. We've all more or less accepted your racism, so be grateful for small favors.

I could see the Lakers winning maybe 30-35 games next year with the development of Russell, Clarkson, Randel :P, and whoever they draft.

Of course Durant makes us "instantly better", he makes any team in the league instantly better. Like I said in my OP, I wouldn't turn him down if he wanted to sign here in LA. But my thing is, if dude is teamed up with Westbrook and he can't get by the geriatric Spurs, he can't get by the Warriors, and if he somehow lucks out and makes the Finals (let's say the Spurs beat the Warriors and then right after Kawhi dies in a car crash), then he'll just get his shit pushed in by Lebron again.

So that's the crux of my argument here. I mean believe me, I'm not against signing that spider monkey looking *****, but I don't think he's going to put us over the top. Title or bust, amirite?

that's an improvement but they fall way short of contending if they don't get a star or a very talented draft pick

I don't think the Lakers will land a big time FA until they see what the young trio of the guys I mentioned do in the next couple of years.

all the Laker "homer" fans on here seem to think they will
some actually think they'll get 2 stars to join them next season

With the right mixture, Durant is absolutely world title material. You can be top heavy like the Thunder are with their 1-2 punch and find championship success, but where they fall short is where we can overcome through like I mentioned, the blend of other players/schemes. Kobe and Shaq being as top heavy as they were, aren't getting past Portland/Sac/SA without Shaw, Fox, Horry, and Fisher's heroics. It's up to our management, coaching, and some luck to get the perfect blend of players to support a top heavy tandem such as Kobe/Shaq or Westbrook/Durant into legitimate title contention.
