It's very devastating that Kobe is in a group of a few players for the discussion of greatest ever, you're right.

I don't think this retaliation thread went according to plan.

Yes -- 1 ring short, a few hundred points shy, and being widely regarded as the 2nd greatest SG of all time plus a top 10 status & first-ballot HOFer somehow equals coming "woefully short" of Jordan. Kobe's had a legendary career and that's something revisionist history won't change.

..the correct answer is Lebron's youngest records...sane Kobe homers knew long ago reaching Jordan was unattainable, and that wound has healed...and I imagine in due time the LeBron records wounds will also be mended...

..but damn, his whole career either chasing Mike or watching his youngest records fall....

..saying all that, I'd still take Kobe over LeBron...

According to plan...??? You mean, you think I started this thread actually expecting you Kobe Kids to answer honestly?

 you're dumber than I thought.

Of course we could cherry-pick criteria and draw any conclusions we want about any player/s, can't we; however when you look at the two players' entire body of work, yes, Kobe has fallen woefully short of the summit of Mount Jordan.
