kinda stupid how OP leaves out a ton of series kobe was #1 option in between 2001-2004
kobe lead the lakers in scoring for all of the first 3 rounds in 2001
kobe lead the lakers in scoring for 1-2 rounds in 2002
kobe lead the lakers in scoring for the first round victory in 2003
kobe lead the lakers in scoring for the first three round victories in 2004
kobe even lead the lakers in scoring during the first round of 2000 vs sacramento

Pssst: Those were "Shaq's Lakers"... just because Chucky was a selfish-ball-hog doesn't make him anything more than what he was at the time: Shaq's side-kick.Kennethgriffin wrote:kinda stupid how OP leaves out a ton of series kobe was #1 option in between 2001-2004
Fact: Opponents game-planned to stop Shaq FIRST and foremost, not Kobe. Opponents double-triple teamed Shaq, not Kobe.

shaqs lakers were from 1997 to 2000
shaq and kobes lakers were from 2001 to 2002
kobe and shaqs lakers were from 2003-2004
you can keep the one round vs the kings in 2000.... kobe has at the very least equal claim to his series victories as dominant leading scorer, assist leader from 2001 to 2004

Those Lakers were "Shaq's Team" every bit as much as the 80's Celts/Lakers were Bird/Magic's teams, and the 90's Bulls were "Jordan's Bulls"... even MUCH MORE actually, because in 94 (when MJ retired) Pippen led the Bulls to 55 wins and one-of-the-worst calls away from likely reaching the ECF at the very least, while Kobe led "his" Lakers to 34-wins and no playoffs in 2005, after Shaq left. In fact it took another HOF big man to enter the fold for LA (Gasol) before Kobe could win another playoff series.

Pippen dominated in the first 3-Peat Finals as well (22 / 9 / 7 / 48% a game, along with legendary Defense), but that doesn't change the fact that the Bulls were "Jordan's Team".Kennethgriffin wrote:nope. i'm right. sorry.. kobe dominated more series than shaq from 2001 to 2004thedangerouskitchen wrote:Nope... you're wrong.Kennethgriffin wrote:

Same with those Lakers, evidenced by the fact that Shaq (not Kobe) won all the MVP's.
BTW, you are COMPLETELY out of your mind thinking Kobe dominated more series' than Shaq (circa 2001-04) "by far not even close". In fact, the ONLY series where you can argue Kobe outplayed Shaq was the 2001 WCF.

Need to add a "beat 70 win team" section.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are dumber than that.

Re: MJ/Kobe/Lebron: Playoff success / competition
So now LeBron has 1 series win over a 70+ win team (something never done in NBA history).
2 series wins over 60+ win teams (Bulls 2011 and Hawks 2015)
(That's 2 more than Kobe).
And 9 series wins over 50+ win teams (Pistons '07, Celtics '11, Pacers '12, OKC '12, Pacers '13, Spurs '13, Pacers '14, Bulls '15, Raptors '16)
