I would love to read your source material where the pharmaceutical companies have prevented importing prescription drugs from foreign countries. You sure the restriction has nothing to do with government agencies?

Oh no, that's the FDA. The insane price gouging is the issue with our pharmaceutical companies. Within that lies a connection(s) as to why reform on this issue has been so sluggish over the years.

Allowing foreign medication to compete with domestic pharmaceutical companies will lower the cost. I also believe a review of patent laws is needed. I understand most are motivated by money and the cost to create these pills is massive. If you are unable to get an ROI on your R&D, you fold up your business. With this, you want to retain some rights to your work, but there is a better way. Perhaps the patent is good for 5 years for example, and then other drug companies can manufacture the pill and you get 30% royalty for the next 10 years, and the royalty decreases after that.

Great, since it is so simple, we should see huge and immediate results within the first month or two. No doubt Trump will easily unite democrats and Republicans alike and everything will be hunky dory in no time.
Considering the mess that Obama was left, and the damn near 8 years of continual sabotage (of their own admission) from the GOP, Obama had the country back on track. ACA wasn't and isn't perfect, but it isn't the fiasco the GOP had hoped and tried for.
