its like a wayne gretzky perfect storm. the 80s in hockey made it possible for a skinny halfway talented hockey player to dominate more than any player ever has or ever will


the game before him was tougher. and since he played its tougher and more athletic/faster... but the 80s rules and evolution of the game made it possible for gretzky to manipulate the system in his favour

In any era with a 3 point line, curry would be just as good as he is now. It may have been a little harder to slash in the paint back in the day, but it wasn't harder to dribble up and fire away from 30 feet, which curry can do whenever he wants.

Iverson couldn't shoot from distance. He was a mediocre outside shooter at best. But 12 seasons into his career he played 82 games and averaged 26 PPG.

He drove recklessly into the paint and played on average teams. No spacing. Not surrounded by shooters.
