Finally broke down and hired a maid this morning
I've gotten too lazy to keep the house up, so we contracted a maid to come 3 times a week.

Three times a week seems drastic.

That's ridiculously pathetic.Madnessssss wrote:I don't need a maid but I did just throw away all my pots and pans instead of cleaning them after leaving them dirty in the sink for like 3 weeks.

A cleaning maid in Austin probably cost no more than 20 or $30 per visitAlaskaHawks wrote:That's ridiculously pathetic.Madnessssss wrote:I don't need a maid but I did just throw away all my pots and pans instead of cleaning them after leaving them dirty in the sink for like 3 weeks.
There's a dozen cleaning ladies on craigslist out here in Cali like $50 a visit
I'm sure those pots and pans cost more than that

Hey swampy, what you make is none of my business, but with your experience as an overseas educator, I'm sure you have some good knowledge of the average wages for that kind of work. So what would you say a guy teaching kids English in South Korea would make for a part time 4-hours-a-day gig?
Just curious.

$7 an hour sounds about right.

That's not too shabby for 4 hours a day, actually.
Edit: actually, that doesn't sound right lol. I did the math, and if he's getting 4 hours a week times five days, that's 80 hours a month. $3,000 divided by 80 hours is $37.50 an hour, which I find hard to believe.

It isn't far fetched. What he does pays well for what it is. He also travels 2-3 hours a day to get to work so that should be factored in as well.LakersNeedShaq wrote:swampgator wrote:His job tops out at about 3 grand a month with credentials and time in.LakersNeedShaq wrote:Hey swampy, what you make is none of my business, but with your experience as an overseas educator, I'm sure you have some good knowledge of the average wages for that kind of work. Yeah, you are right. We changed it to 2 times a week at 2 hours per. She will take Gator out for walks as well.Wishbone wrote:Three times a week seems drastic.
