How do you standardize a test among vastly different groups of people? When were these world wide standardized IQ tests conducted? How was the data collected? How many tests were distributed and to which segments of the population?

for what its worth I believe IQ is elastic, hence while blacks have a very low IQ in comparison to whites, asians and jews, their IQ can be vastly improved if their culture inculcates an environment of intellectual and academic curiosity.

Speaking as someone who has worked pretty closely to this line of work, there are answers to all of those questions. Psychometrics is *extremely* rigorous (although yes, like anything else there are people with surface-level knowledge who greatly overextend themselves).

To be frank, while psychometrics is not perfect (nothing in social science is perfect), some people (usually leftists of some stripe) grossly exaggerate the problems of intelligence testing as it relates to conclusions about various groups of people.

That is because they are working from a default position that group A and group B are equal in intelligence (in the aggregate and on average--obviously intelligence is a person-level characteristic), rather than taking a neutral position at the start and following the data where it leads. Honestly, I think it is because they are scared of where the data may lead in terms of justifying racism or certain policy prescriptions/conclusions.

As an aside, psychometrics is way, way, way beyond the stuff that Rushton did and does. He's like the anger general troll version of psychometrics.

It's also kind of funny when leftists coincidentally forget their previous beefs with IQ testing when it comes to comparing IQ of liberals with IQs of conservatives in the aggregate. In those moments, estimation of IQ becomes a perfect science beamed into our heads by the God of Science.

I gotta call bs on IQ since there are multiple Intelligences. An IQ test would do nothing other than measure your ability to take that IQ test.

With that said, there are definitely genetic differences between races of people which should be studied. But the potential for agenda-driven propaganda on either side is massive in this area.

Ali, believe me I'm *very* well-versed in the discussion and the sociology and people within. Like I said, it was a professional interest and requirement for me at one point in my career. There are obviously true-blue racists (Rushton I do think is one, Jensen was not, nor is Murray IMO) in the mix. But they are definitely not representative of psychometricians, either in personality or aptitude.
