Exactly why you can't have an ego maniac ruining your investment. The Lakers organization has no balls and is letting a dried up legend completely sabotage their rebuilding efforts. Is no one man enough to stand up to Kobe?
It's ugly for sure. Are the Lakers FO hoping Kobe will suddenly develop some self-awareness and see what he's doing to the team? If so, it seems they're going to be waiting a long time.

Him going out like this is poetic justice.
A selfish prick who has more playoff assists than any other SG.

All that says is he's played more games than most to get there. Most bricks than any other SG too.

Unfortunately the Lakers need his offense - partially because Byron refuses to give out ample PT to the youngsters they're hoping to build a future around. Kobe's got almost 60,000 minutes on those legs and hasn't been anywhere close to his old self for almost 3 years now, so this production or lack thereof shouldn't be a surprise. Kobe doesn't have the frailty to retire midseason, but it would be nice if he actually said this was going to be his final season instead of skirting the issue because he doesn't want a farewell tour. He's got the Lakers in a chokehold all season long, and his whipping boy Byron's helping out with that.

Byron Scott is an idiot

-plays 40 year old Kobe the most minutes on the team despite having the worst +/-
-doesn't hold Kobe accountable for his terrible play because "he has earned the right"
-drafts a very promising rookie #2 overall yet refuses to give him any minutes
-why the hell did we sign Lou Williams? I have no idea how he's in the league, the only player to look worse then Kobe defensively and more of a black hole offensively. Oh and he happens to play the same position as Russell and clarkson so of course Byron would rather he see the court

There's a lot more I want to rant about but seriously, Byron has to go next year. You can't let Kobe shoot 1/14 because "he's earned that right" while sitting our young guys because they haven't. That's the literal opposite of player development, and why would you want your rookies to watch that shit and form bad habits. I'm beginning to wonder if the Byron and Kobe tankathon is going to hurt Russell, rankle, and clarkson more then it helps the lakers, at this point I'd rather see them getting good run and improving with hard fought games then any more 15+ point blowouts with Kobe, Lou, and swaggy leading the tank

I heard somewhere that Byron wants to play the veterans because he feels that is the best way to keep his job.

That makes sense maybe if he keeps playing Kobe, Lou, and swaggy they will get better in their 10th+ season in, I can't imagine any extra playing time would help Russell, randle, or clarkson improve

Who would be the right coach for this team in order to play the young guys?

I'm sure you could guess who my first choice would be, but mark Jackson is also a good option for a few years. I don't think Jackson is a great x and o's coach but his player development with the Warriors was awesome as curry, klay, Barnes, Ezeli, and green all were projects of his

Its only fitting for KoMe's legacy. Starts his career as a moron chucker, ends it as one while his team grabs maybe 8 wins for the whole year :high big:

Probably the most overrated player in the history of the game.
