Sad that the following players will likely be retiring in the next 1-3 years
All Hofers also
Kobe
Duncan
Dirk
KG
Pierce
Vince
Ray Allen (officially)
Manu
HM: Terry and Andre Miller
Likely the last players to come into the league in the 90s will be gone soon. It's been a pleasure watching the all.

Maybe I'll pass. But pretty sure you remembered the feeling when athletes you watched as a 10-11 year old started hanging them up one by one.Da Stars. wrote:Would you like to trade ages for a year? Pup?somberbostonian wrote:

I don't see why he wouldn't.elmerjfudd wrote:vince won't make the hall.
Basketball reference has his hall probabilities at 94.5% although that's not the end all. Consider the following have recently made the hall
Reggie Miller
Chris Mullin
Mitch Richmond
The precedent has been set and if they are hall of famers then so is Vince. Won't be a first ballot but he will get in there eventually.
Also only 1 of 21 players in NBA history with 20k points, 4K rebounds, 4K assists. Some good company from a statistical standpoint.

I remember the odd feeling I had when players younger than me started to enter the league. Insomberbostonian wrote:Maybe I'll pass. About 8-9 years everyone playing will be younger than I am. Hell, we will have players born in the 2000s enter the league before we know it.

If you're currently between the age of 28-30, James will be the last "face of the NBA" who's younger than you. Also weird when you look at the NFL and realize that Peyton Manning, Charles Woodson and Matt Hasselbeck are the only non-kickers left who came into the league during the 90s. I remember watching their college games on TV.Titan18 wrote:somberbostonian wrote:I remember the odd feeling I had when players younger than me started to enter the league. InDa Stars. wrote:

Will be sad to see most of those guys gone.
Triva question(without cheating), last player that was drafted in the 80's that was played in the NBA?

My daughter is a senior in high school now. Tim Duncan has been in the NBA longer than she has been alive. When he retires, I'm gonna be all

Oh snap I turn 29 in 2 weeks. We gotta hold a joint 30th AG birthday party next year. I'd suggest either Laser Tag, Bowling, Chucky Cheese, Medieval Times, Petting Zoo, or Trampoline jumps at a gymnastics place.Titan18 wrote:Pretty much and I'm in that age range. Abe isn't invited though. He'll just hijack the party and make it about himself

I heard medieval times sucks now. Trampoline dodgeball is always a blast. There's one in Elmhurst.Buckets wrote:Oh snap I turn 29 in 2 weeks. We gotta hold a joint 30th AG birthday party next year. That is correct, there was another player that was also from the 80's that retired the same year as Cliff.Titan18 wrote:Cliff Robinson?Buckets wrote:Charley Oakley would be my guess. That dude seemed to play foreverthatoothpick45 wrote:Will be sad to see most of those guys gone.

I'm assuming you meant the player to retire most recently that was drafted in the 80's. My guess would be Kevin Willisthatoothpick45 wrote:Will be sad to see most of those guys gone.

Correct, that is the other. Cliff and Willis were both drafted in the 80's, Cliff in 89 and I believe Willis was 84. Played till the 06-07 season.steveo wrote:I'm assuming you meant the player to retire most recently that was drafted in the 80's.
