Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are dumber than that.

Rodman & DJ also here. I have a hard time voting for people who have played 6 years only

Well idk what argument one can have on players who have small sample sizes vs players who have the numbers while playing longer.Robceltsfan wrote:Yes Deez....we know, we know...King Deez wrote:Rodman & DJ also here. I have a hard time voting for people who have played 6 years only

Tight race here.

I really want to go Grant Hill with my last selection. His portability is extremely high compared to the rest of the players on this list. Not having the hardware, at this point in the project, is not going to factor heavily for me.
With that being said, I'm still open to Rodman and one other candidate.

It's hard to pick against Rodman at this point:
2-time DPOY
9-time All-Defense selection
2-time All-NBA selection
7-time rebounding champion
5-time NBA champion
He's arguably the most decorated player left on the board....and is also arguably the greatest rebounder of all-time (all paces being equal).

Crazy thing is how good of a rebounder he was for his height too. Grabbing 16-18 boards a game while being the size of a SF/SGRobceltsfan wrote:It's hard to pick against Rodman at this point:

Dennis Johnson and Steph Curry.
Re: 2015 Anger General Greatest post-merger Players of All Time #37
So nobody played defense on those Lakers teams, yet they still beat your Cs 2 out of 3 times. Interesting.Robceltsfan wrote:We have some good offensive and defensive nominees to choose from. Hmmm.....
If we do this again in 2 or 3 years, Steph Curry is definitely going to find his way into this conversation....but his career is too young in my opinion (though the Bill Walton argument will come into play on him...I'm sure).
I'm not sold on Melo. Grant Hill was a fucking what-if unfortunately. Tony Parker....no. Artis Gilmore had a 9-year stretch of 19/11 ball in the NBA....but no All-NBA teams and only 1 All-defense....plus he had less playoff success than anyone listed....so he's a no.
I'm stuck between DJ, Worthy, Dikembe and Rodman.
I can probably eliminate Dikembe. Rodman was almost as game-changing defensively, a better rebounder, and had team success wherever he traveled. DJ and Worthy both had loads of team success, but DJ was a solid 2-way player. Worthy played defense about as well as Magic did.
I guess I've narrowed it down to the two Dennis':
Dennis Johnson
Dennis Rodman

I will go Rodman with my 2nd vote. After looking it up, Gilmore's post merger resume is not strong, not sure why he's an option yet.

Call me crazy, but I think the secretary of defense might have just made defense his calling card. A draw on the road is OK though.
Re: 2015 Anger General Greatest post-merger Players of All Time #37
After flip flopping back and forth in my decision, I decided to go with Dennis Johnson, a guy whose conventional numbers do not him justice. The level of impact on winning that he brought to his teams in 3 different roles was just too much for me to pass on at this point.
