Already 4-0 for Pau.....not much point in voting opposite.
But fuck it...I'll go with yet another of the products from my local area.

Alonzo Mourning. He wasn't as skilled offensively as Pau but defensively, he was by far better.

No. Miller doesn't belong.

Re: 2015 Anger General Greatest post-merger Players of All Time #35
I think Reggie Miller is somewhat under-appreciated. There isn't much of a gap at all between him and a guy like Ray Allen. In fact, Miller made one more All-NBA team than Ray Allen did. Allen played in a grand total of 37 playoff games in the 11 years prior to becoming a Boston Celtic.
I would argue that, given similar opportunities to play for teams where he was a #3 or #4 option later in his career, Reggie could have had very similar championship success as Ray did.
I don't see why Reggie is in the "OMG...WTF" category at this point.

I can see an argument between Allen and Miller BEFORE his time with Boston and Miami. But you can't keep them close together anymore because of what Allen has done since. You can't just ignore his time in Miami and Boston.
Re: 2015 Anger General Greatest post-merger Players of All Time #35
I'd be curious to hear the rationale for Reggie Miller being a WTF pick at this point [oops...since posted]
Despite being somewhat limited as a player, he did the most important thing in the game extremely well for a fairly long period of time, and gets a boost from his playoff performances (IMO).
Interestingly, his advanced analytics are somewhat more impressive than what I was expecting when I took a glance at them.

I just think there are multiple options clearly ahead of him at this point. To be fair, just because he's nominated doesn't mean he's making it in any time soon. He'll probably find his spot right about where it belongs... several picks down the line.

Re: 2015 Anger General Greatest post-merger Players of All Time #35
Ray Allen, as the best player on his team, had 3 seasons of 10+ win shares. Miller had 11 such seasons.
I'm not saying to completely discount Allen's time in Boston and Miami, but he was the 3rd option in Boston, and simply a spot-up shooting role player in Miami.
Miller had FAR MORE team success as "the man" than Ray Allen did. That is not up for debate.

Ray allen has him in all statistical categories while being a 10 time all-star to Reggies 5 and also a 2 time NBA champion. Ray is also the greatest 3 point shooter ever.Robceltsfan wrote:Ray Allen, as the best player on his team, had 3 seasons of 10+ win shares. Miller had 11 such seasons.

Wait. So Miller gets credit for having the better teams... but Allen gets ripped for having the better teams.
Makes sense. Gotcha.

Ray Allen is all of .5% better from 3 in his career (and he spent a decent portion of his career just sitting on the 3-point line waiting for open jumpers).King Deez wrote:Ray allen has him in all statistical categories while being a 10 time all-star to Reggies 5 and also a 2 time NBA champion. There is very little gap between Reggie Miller and Ray Allen.....if any at all.
PER: Allen 18.6....Miller 18.4
WS: Allen 145.1....Miller 174.4
VORP: Allen 58.1....Miller 63.2
TS%: Allen 58.0%....Miller 61.4%

The thing is... I always felt like Allen was the more versatile player overall. Better rebounder, better ball handler and passer. I don't know how that translates to his ERPV% on Tuesday nights in temperatures under 27 degrees though...
