Weed isn't a drug. It's a medicinal plant.

Ouch. Many can't believe that because they have been told lies about weed all their life. Even though some are educated and know that it's used for medicinal purposes like for those with cancer, seizures, etc.

Sometimes, as we see often in life, rational and logical thinking is replaced by what is taught or told to people.

PhutureDynasty has totally trolled Smelters. Too funny.

I've posted on this ad nauseum. While I don't partake myself I think legalizing marijuana is a no brainer.

The ridiculous waste of resources policing it and wasted incarcerating people is in itself damn near criminal. Not to mention the huge foregone revenue government could collect regulating and taxing it's sale and distribution.

But alas now it's becoming more legal in more states (which it should be legal everywhere). Many people are dying from cigarettes and alcohol but it's ok.

Those in charge just don't want people opening up their minds.

You wouldn't believe how many top level businessmen and politicians use weed. Do you really believe Clinton was just inhaling?, or was it just exhaling?

Many successful business people use weed. Now when you start using/abusing other drugs and alcohol that's when you start getting in trouble.

Wow phuture are you are this adamant against cigs and alcohol?
How dare you defend the Devil's Lettuce.

I find it funny when I hear sheeple frown on weed while they've got a beer in one hand, a triple cheeseburger in the other hand, and a cancer stick hanging out of their mouth.

What's truly funny is the fact that these same simpletons will eventually become avid pot supporters and/or smokers once weed is legalized, and advertisers start marketing it as the greatest thing in the world (as they do with alcohol and junk food, and how they used to do with tobacco).

So, what has been the consensus with this? Did anyone mention specific people?

It kills brain cell, it's addicting, and it leads to harder drugs.

How anyone could support that filth is beyond me.

its not physically addictive.
the main reason pot was criminalized was because Hearst had extensive timber holdings and was afraid of hemp changing the print industry, and deteriorating his $$.
So he had his papers smear it.
It was also used by those damn Mexicans, and the black jazz musicians, so it had to be bad.
Not in my wheelhouse, but it should be legalized.
Prohibition doesn't work.

Absolutely, positively UNfounded drivel... and pot does impact short-term memory if you smoke it excessively, but drink excessively and your liver is shot. Smoke cigs and you're inviting lung (and many other types of) cancer... stuff your face with junk food and the potential for health issues down the road is endless. A lifetime of breathing in household chemicals is more harmful for you than smoking weed on a casual basis.

From the link:

"Is marijuana addictive?

Yes, marijuana can be addictive. Over time, overstimulation of the endocannabinoid system by marijuana use can cause changes in the brain that lead to addiction, a condition in which a person cannot stop using a drug even though it interferes with many aspects of his or her life. It is estimated that 9 percent of people who use marijuana will become dependent on it. The number goes up to about 17 percent in those who start using young (in their teens) and to 25 to 50 percent among daily users. According to the 2013 NSDUH, marijuana accounted for 4.2 million of the estimated 6.9 million Americans dependent on or abusing illicit drugs."

The bolded part is key.

I can't for the life of me understand why anybody would defend such an addicting substance, especially since it kills brain cells.

The argument is simple, simpleton: Pot, smoked on a casual basis, is less harmful to you than alcohol, tobacco, junk food, inhaling household chemicals, etc.

What you said doesn't explain why marijuana is considered the most addictive drug, based on the numbers you left out of my post when you quoted it.

I can't support those who support such a disgusting, harmful, addicting substance
