Duncan has been a fiddle for the last 5 seasons. Next season will be #6. Kobe was a fiddle for his first 6 seasons. Again, you're being very hypocritical. Hopefully it's intentional because I don't believe that you're delusional like some may say on here.thedangerouskitchen wrote:y2ktors wrote:He praised Duncan for some of the same stuff that he's criticizing Kobe about. Duncan hasn't won any awards (MVP, FMVP, DPOY) since his FMVP in 2005, a span in which they've won 2 more rings. His entire resume was taken at face value and Kobe's resume isn't while being criticized for not winning any awards while Shaq was there? Why the hypocrisy?wailuaFC wrote: Can you give me a breakdown and how to figure out which players are leaders, second fiddles, and co leaders? If media hardware is your only criteria, would curry and iggy be co leaders as they both won a MVP trophy as teammates?
Duncan was NEVER a second-fiddle for half his career... so he and Kobe aren't even remotely similar.

Righteous. But I think you're probably going to have to settle for Kareem at #5. Magic is running away here, and most likely Bird is going to get #4.y2ktors wrote:Kareem from 1977-89:

I'll go Bird, just to make it more interesting. I'm kind of ambivalent between Bird and Magic.
Re: 2015 Anger General Greatest post-merger Players of All Time #3
Magic looks like he's going to be tough to beat this round. Kareem definitely has the resume and the production to beat Magic. He just hasn't had much traction to convince enough people that he's worthy.americaninfidel wrote:Righteous. But I think you're probably going to have to settle for Kareem at #5. I know right? Should have at least kept the voting open longer given the one vote diff.Shill Jackson wrote:Duncan over Magic!?

One of the Duncan votes was from a Lakers fan - fpliii. I think the only real Laker hater who voted Duncan was probably TDK, and he’s more a Kobe hater than a Laker hater.Shill Jackson wrote:Duncan over Magic!?

Funny how the two Laker fans upset Magic isn't #2 are the only ones crying about biases.
Never change Laker fans.

It was open for 48 hrs. I voted for Magic Johnson with under an hour to go and that closed the gap To 1 but no one else voted.Odogg wrote:I know right? Should have at least kept the voting open longer given the one vote diff.Shill Jackson wrote:Duncan over Magic!?

I don't think that Duncan was a bad selection for #2 but I am a little surprised that he went before Magic...just a little.

Bird.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are dumber than that.

Another year of excellent play at his advanced years (he's older than Moses in basketball years, especially for a big man) works in his favor as well.

I've ascended Timmy to 6th or 7th all-time....but I just don't think he's good enough to be ahead of Magic and Bird. I don't place as much emphasis on longevity as some.vcsgrizzfan wrote:People are awakening to Timmy's greatness!Robceltsfan wrote:Didn't make any sense to me either....but oh well.King Deez wrote:So our Anger General GOAT list would now Have Duncan at #4 if we did a re vote? I get that. I also think to some extent nostalgia might keep Magic and Bird a hair higher than perhaps they should be. I don't feel strongly either way with respect to their ranking relative to Duncan, but I certainly don't see it as an injustice if Duncan is ranked higher. I really think he tends to be under appreciated in general. The lack of flash in his game makes it very easy to take him for granted, but he does everything well that is important to help a team win.Robceltsfan wrote:I've ascended Timmy to 6th or 7th all-time....but I just don't think he's good enough to be ahead of Magic and Bird. In general, Duncan's was maybe a step behind those two offensively (in general), but he was several levels above them defensively, and when the hardware starts to equal out....
Taking a break from the board. Please reference my last post for more details if you are interested.

All due respect to Duncan....but he was far more than one step behind Bird and Magic offensively.
