Fixed it for you because there is no need to deny the facts in an attempt to try and sell your opinion (95% of which I erased, since it's based on comparing stats of players across different eras, who played different roles for their respective teams... DEFENSIVE stats too - ).Bush4Ever wrote:Lebron isn't anywhere near as good as Pippen was defensively, but he was an all-defensive first team selection (earned usually) a number of years, and has been considered a top 5 defensive player for a multi-year stretch (not now, but previously).thedangerouskitchen wrote:
Nice job COMPLETELY deflecting from your idiotic claim about their Defense, dope... and the fact remains James isn't on the same stratosphere Defensively as was Pippen (and Defense is half the game).
BTW, Jimmy Butler had more Offensive WS than LeBron this past season. Are you prepared to argue that Jimmy was a superior Offensive player?
Yeah, I didn't think so either.
Bottom line: You woefully underestimate the impact Pippen had on Defense, and the fact that his defense impacted the outcome of many games / playoff series every bit as much as James impacts the game with his Scoring. Yes, Scottie was that good on that end of the floor, and there exists a boatload of evidence / testimonials from a boatload of experts / analysts / peers / coachs, et al to support that claim (from folks who have forgotten more about the game than any of us will ever know, and whose opinions hold much more credibility than your +/- and DWS "evidence"... including Jordan himself, who touted Pip's Defense as the best he's ever faced, and credited said D for forcing him to expand his Offensive skill set, as the two would go head-to-head during their legendary practice battles).
So please... spare me the "LeBron has some First Team Defense" selections on his resume. So does CP3. Big deal.
That's weak sauce, man.
Offensively Pippen was #3 in Scoring among all Forwards during the decade of the 90's... and 6th among all G and F during that period. He was a very versatile Scorer; he could / did hit from long-range, mid-range, post-up, off the dribble, et al... so let's not pretend we're talking about Bruce Bowen or Ron Artest here.
Yes James has the Scoring edge over Pippen, but that edge is certainly not "several times greater than the gap between them on defense", which is what you stated from the outset.
Again... that's just nonsense.

Why couldn't Jordone win without a LeBron James level talent on his team?

You know TDK is rabidly drunk as hell once he starts writing these long ass dissertations with no end in sight, like if anybody read this predictable wall of drivel.

..well said TDK...Bush says we're wrong and he's right, and grizz backs him on that...sooooooo, they are the who's who of basketball minds and I guess that's that...

One side has applied logic and facts on their side. The other has a desperate desire to make exaggerated and absurd claims in order to gain attention from people that he doesn't get in real life.jordanzone wrote:..well said TDK...Bush says we're wrong and he's right, and grizz backs him on that...sooooooo, they are the who's who of basketball minds and I guess that's that...
I feel confident in the way this one turned out, and will let people judge for themselves. YMMV of course.
Taking a break from the board. Please reference my last post for more details if you are interested.
Re: Scottie Pippen: "I was LeBron James before LeBron James"
Maybe if I want TDK to be reasonable about Pippen's ability and legacy I should make a "Jordan is not GOAT" thread.
I'm sure Pippen would magically get knocked back down to a level far beneath a 4 time MVP, 2 lead dog ring, triple double machine standard.
Just by coincidence of course.

One side uses "stats" to suggest that LeBron is anywhere close to the level of defender as was Pippen, yet refuses to use those same stats to tell us why Jimmy Butler (according to his "evidence") is a better Offensive player than LeBron.
I feel confident in saying that your "facts" are nonsense.

..once again, as I stated previously(and what you denied lol), this is all driven by the anger some of you monkeys have towards Bulls fans...your words confirm that, seeing how you want to depict the end goal of this debate, lol...your buttons are being pushed, and that has exposed your inner Bulls fans hate...lol @ Bush being relegated as just another Bulls fans hater(although I'm not a Bulls fan)...

This absolute beatdown of the Bulltards should be stickied forever as a reminder of how drunk as fuck this sect is at all hours in the day. Doesn't matter if its Saturday night, Tuesday morning, or Thursday's luncheon, these guys are wasted 24/7, and this thread is a direct illustration of such.
I'm surprised they haven't accused Bush of being a KK or LeTot yet.

Re: Scottie Pippen: "I was LeBron James before LeBron James"
Yeah, the entire world is comprised of people who hate the Bulls, especially Jordan and Pippen. That's why if you polled 100 experts with no axe to grind, about 100 of them would choose LeBron over Pippen. I've defended Pippen many, many times here and on ESPN against some people who denigrate him in an over the top fashion. He was a great player in his own right, but the assessments of people who think objectively definitely put him in a tier below LeBron, not like there is shame in that.jordanzone wrote:Bush4Ever wrote:One side has applied logic and facts on their side.
