Lebron isn't anywhere near as good as Pippen was defensively, but he was an all-defensive first team selection (earned usually) a number of years, and has been considered a top 5 defensive player for a multi-year stretch (not now, but previously).

Fixed it for you because there is no need to deny the facts in an attempt to try and sell your opinion (95% of which I erased, since it's based on comparing stats of players across different eras, who played different roles for their respective teams... DEFENSIVE stats too - ).

BTW, Jimmy Butler had more Offensive WS than LeBron this past season. Are you prepared to argue that Jimmy was a superior Offensive player?

Yes, Scottie was that good on that end of the floor, and there exists a boatload of evidence / testimonials from a boatload of experts / analysts / peers / coachs, et al to support that claim (from folks who have forgotten more about the game than any of us will ever know, and whose opinions hold much more credibility than your +/- and DWS "evidence"... including Jordan himself, who touted Pip's Defense as the best he's ever faced, and credited said D for forcing him to expand his Offensive skill set, as the two would go head-to-head during their legendary practice battles).

He was a very versatile Scorer; he could / did hit from long-range, mid-range, post-up, off the dribble, et al... so let's not pretend we're talking about Bruce Bowen or Ron Artest here.

Yes James has the Scoring edge over Pippen, but that edge is certainly not "several times greater than the gap between them on defense", which is what you stated from the outset.

Yeah, the entire world is comprised of people who hate the Bulls, especially Jordan and Pippen. That's why if you polled 100 experts with no axe to grind, about 100 of them would choose LeBron over Pippen. I've defended Pippen many, many times here and on ESPN against some people who denigrate him in an over the top fashion. He was a great player in his own right, but the assessments of people who think objectively definitely put him in a tier below LeBron, not like there is shame in that.
