The real question is who fills his Mod-vacancy?

It's already been discussed. Right now, it looks like RileyMartin is the overwhelming favorite to take over.

I think it's finally time the Heat fanbase has a representative on the mod team.

Re: Kingcarl24..
Finished the phone interview yesterday. It went ok. I think I got really tired of talking about how great I am. I asked what the next steps were and she said the partners of the firm I would be working at would want to talk to me as well which may mean 1-2 more calls.
I'm kind of thinking of flying up there for a day and seeing if I can do them all at once and actually let them meet me.
Can I crash at your place Hawks?

I find it odd they haven't flown you up there already and will rely on phone interviews. It's a pretty meaningful position and personally, I would never hire someone I wasn't already really familiar with without meeting them face to face in a position that matters.Kingcarl24 wrote:Finished the phone interview yesterday. I *hate* phone interviews.
With a passion. Mainly because I hate talking on the phone, but also because I seem to have a much higher success rate when I can actually interact in person.
I hope you get it Carl.

Re: Kingcarl24..
I have been wondering the same thing actually. I kind of have a feeling the partners will fly me up. I can understand all the others because they do so much communication over the phone anyways that it seems appropriate. The partners are those I'll be meeting with daily.vcsgrizzfan wrote:I find it odd they haven't flown you up there already and will rely on phone interviews. They aren't as bad as video interviewing in my opinion. I had a tough time understanding the lady I talked to yesterday. I just had to pretend I knew what she was saying more than a few times because I got tired of asking her to repeat herself.Bush4Ever wrote:I *hate* phone interviews.

Video interviews are the worst because they almost always have a 2-3 second delay so you find yourselves interrupting each other constantly.
Re: Kingcarl24..
On one phone interview, the lady was interviewing from her home office, and suddenly out of the blue she cut out and I heard a lot of yelling and commotion in the background. Like tons. My finger was literally on power button to hang up and call the police (I was thinking it was abuse), but she finally got back to the phone.Kingcarl24 wrote:

According to her, there was an elderly old man in the immediate area who had some mental health issues (I think dementia), who would sometimes "escape" his home and end up causing problems for people. She said the dude was on her front lawn yelling his head off about something and banging around.
Didn't get the job but at least I got a funny experience out of it.

Re: Kingcarl24..
We were developing some new software for our company a few years back and were on a conference call with the developer. Everything was going fine and suddenly he yelled, "GIT! GIT OUTTA HERE!" He said excuse me real quick and then we heard him get up quickly and run to the door and start yelling. He came back and apologized and said he was working from home and some squirrels were eating his tomatoes. We all got a good laugh out of that.Bush4Ever wrote:On one phone interview, the lady was interviewing from her home office, and suddenly out of the blue she cut out and I heard a lot of yelling and commotion in the background. Re: Kingcarl24..
I played some last night. I've been dealing with some pain in my left should for the past month or so. It hurts to lift it up to shoot. It wasn't unbearable last so I had a pretty decent night. The pain forced me to shoot with my right more which was kind of fun. During one game, I'd say I shot more than half my shots with my right hand. Didn't do too poorly either.AlaskaHawks wrote:Of course. Bring your sneakers, too.Kingcarl24 wrote:Finished the phone interview yesterday. It went ok. I'm not good enough to use my off hand but that has to be fun. Have you heard of salonpas?? It's amazing for sore muscles and stuff like that.Kingcarl24 wrote:I played some last night. Did not know this.

Glad to hear your interviews are going well. Too bad about your shoulder, better ice it up. Too young to hang em up.

As a big I forced myself to shoot with either hand under the hoop. I'm not as strong with my right but I will use it from 7-10 feet if necessary.
