DAMN!!
I thought with their current roster going into next year that he would have been given 1 final shot.

Mildly surprised. I thought he had the backing of his key players and that would carry the day.

I got a headline of Kanter being sidelined for 4-6 weeks as was like huh?
Thunder aren't in the playoffs anyway so it doesn't matter.

Not unless his wife is fully recovered.
Adelman was a walking corpse last season. He was terrible. He tuned out. Although his wife's medical stuff had to weighing heavily on his mind.

That's not going to work out well for the Thunder.

Welcome to Orlando, Scotty.
Re: BREAKING: Scott Brooks fired
Not entirely surprised and somewhat justified IMO. Not clear-cut, but reasonable.
Taking a break from the board. Please reference my last post for more details if you are interested.
Re: BREAKING: Scott Brooks fired
I think this move had to be made last year, so you'd have multiple seasons of him prior to Durant hitting free agency. Now there will only be one full year of training camp+season+playoffs. Might be too little, too late, if the goal is to keep KD. Though from my understanding Durant liked the guy, so maybe this makes him more likely to leave.
Either way, pretty good defensive coach, but his schemes are some of the most unimaginative shit I have ever seen. Pretty much all ISOs, and occasional drives over the bigs screening (even if they are no threat to roll or pop out for the shot).

Re: BREAKING: Scott Brooks fired
Imagine how good a fully involved, motivated and healthy Rick Adelman would be for this team
Only downside would be his lack of trust in younger players, choosing to play vets over them

Re: BREAKING: Scott Brooks fired
I think they need to settle on a direction first before hiring a coach.
Do they feel it's certain that KD leaves? If he stays, will they trade WB for a comparable player, or keep him? If both KD and WB do stay, what coach can get the most out of them?

Re: BREAKING: Scott Brooks fired
Presti's statement on it is full of empty, vague terms and deflection --
"As we all know, this past year we had unique and challenging circumstances and as I have conveyed, not many people could have accomplished what Scott and this team were able to. Therefore, it is very important to state that this decision is not a reflection of this past season, but rather an assessment of what we feel is necessary at this point in time in order to continually evolve, progress and sustain. We determined that, in order to stimulate progress and put ourselves in the best position next season and as we looked to the future, a transition of this kind was necessary for the program. We move forward with confidence in our foundation and embrace the persistence and responsibility that is required to construct an elite and enduring basketball organization capable of winning an NBA championship in Oklahoma City.”
