Yeah, I saw Friday in the 95 list, still a favorite comedy of mine.

awful

Actually, I've always thought "Go" was sort of a hidden gem. Then again, I haven't seen it in quite some time. But I USED to like it. Maybe it has aged poorly.

I used to think Doug Liman was a solid director. He's a big reason why I dig The Bourne Identity more than those that followed it.

The best movies were made between 1984 and 1993.

Back in those days you actually had to act, and actors would put in 20 hour days, 6 days a week MINIMUM for a film, all without complaining.

Nowadays, actors come and go whenever they want to, and there is virtually no writing talent or interesting stories. It's all "frozen this" and superhero movies (spoiler alert: the superhero wins).
Taking a break from the board. Please reference my last post for more details if you are interested.

The Karate Kid was honestly the worst possible thing to ever happen in martial arts history.

You're the best around when you start talking about movies. It's going to be a cruel summer when you're not posting as much as the weather heats up.

Actors also used to walk all the way home from set. Up hill. Both ways.

It was very good as a movie, although I'm not sure how well it aged.

Catastrophic for martial arts.

Nobody really gave a fuck about it regarding martial arts. Pat Morita was the man.

It impacts among other things how well it ages.

The martial arts aspect looks silly as shit now, because it was built on a foundation of horseshit.

It's not a total deal-breaker, but it does matter.
