What's ironic about this, and about LeBron switching from #23 to #6 out of alleged respect for MJ (in a move that disrespected Russell), is that LeBron has ALWAYS talked about his supposed knowledge of and appreciation for the history of the game. What an ass.

I think people are making way too big of a deal of it. While my Mt. Rushmore would be Jordan, Bird, Magic, and Russell, it doesn't bother me that much that LeBron prefers Oscar Robertson. Trying to pick only 4 is tough and wrong, especially off the top of your head.

Barkley left Magic Johnson off his top 10 list of all-time players. That's an even bigger insult, yet you don't hear Magic Johnson bitching about it. Who cares?

He was asked what he thought of LeBron's choices or lack thereof. He gave the correct answer. He said a lot more than your little snippet, and when you look at the answer in it's totality, it was the correct answer.

Lebron is a guard/forward and not a big man. It makes sense to me that he's not going to fill his Mt. Rushmore with centers. I would expect Shaq's Rushmore to have a few centers on it. When you are a kid playing in your driveway or the park you usually mimic people you want to pattern your game after....a lot of that has to do with your own size and the position you think you will play. If you are a point guard or a little guy you're not going to look up to Kareem or Shaq, you would more likely pick Isiah Thomas or Stockton or AI.
