Re: WhatIfSports Draft, Round 5-two champ teams, Max's pick
Ah fuck it. I knew I was going to get a scrub this round.
I'll take ancient Robert Parish as a ceremonial pick and hope my laziness in research isn't leaving any obvious choice on the board.
Note: I know exactly who I am taking in the next round though.

Taking a break from the board. Please reference my last post for more details if you are interested.

I know Max, Bush, and Hawks have not picked yet, but I am going to go ahead and "sneak" the draft order and list the rules for round 6 in just a few minutes.
Re: WhatIfSports Draft, Round 5-two champ teams, Max's pick
And if I can't get my boy in R6 to balance out this fifth round bullshit, I am going to be pissed.
Ya'll don't want to see me pissed. It is basically just like my usual self, except I am drunk.

Here's a list:

Make sure to check the years, though. Second one must be 77 or later.

Re: WhatIfSports Draft, Round 5-two champ teams, Max's pick
Here are the rules for round 6: a player who won a championship coming off the bench.
BASIC RULES:
Round 6 will probably include the most research in the entire draft. You must draft a player who won a championship when coming off the bench. In less than 50% of his games in the regular season, he must be coming off the bench. If he played in 82 games and started 41 games, that's 50%, so he's not eligible to draft in this round. If he played in 73 games and started 36 games, that's less than 50%, so he's eligible to draft in this round. You may only use the years in which the player is eligible. For example, Scott Wedman came off the bench in '84 and '86 for the Celtics. You could draft 84 or 86 Scot Wedman, but you could not draft him for any other year...only the years in which he qualifies for this criteria.
BAD NEWS:
Unfortunately, basketball-reference.com doesn't know everybody who started games prior to the 1981 season. Therefore, we will go by minutes per game in the regular season from 1977-1980. You man NOT choose a player who averaged in the top 5 in minutes on his team from 1977-1980. Anyone who came in 6th in MPG and fewer is eligible in these particular years.
EXCEPTIONS:
1) If you prove to me via link that a player started less than 50% of the games in which he played from the years 1977-1980, I will allow you to draft that player.
2) If you want to include playoff games, you may. Suppose a player started in 43 out of 82 (more than 50%) games in the regular season, but when you include the playoff games, he started in 49 out of 100 games (less than 50%). If you prove this to me, I will allow you to draft that player. I will NOT be researching this in-depth, unless is stands out to me like a rhino in a suburb. To do this is your choice. During the draft, I will only be looking at regular season stats, though, to see if your pick is valid. You must prove it to me via link that your pick is eligible if you want to draft that particular player that particular year.
(Dare I ask...) Any questions?

Re: WhatIfSports Draft, Round 6-bench champs, Max's pick
The draft order for round 6 is updated. You can see it on this first post on the first page in this thread. The rules for round 6 are a bit complicated, and are listed in several spots (one post above this one, the first post on page 1 in this thread, and a new thread on the board).

Of course I have the first pick for this category.
Can someone do the research for me or at least hook a brotha up with a link?

I'll give you this hint: don't over think it. The top players in this round are pretty obvious.Max wrote:Still no computer.Ghostown42 wrote:What a slacker!Max wrote:Of course I have the first pick for this category.
