Re: WhatIfSports Draft, Round 4-Most Improved, fpliii's pick
I almost cried when Robertson was taken. I have no C, so I almost took Ellison or Diaw or O'Neal (although O'Neal's defensive rating that year is unusually bad), but I will go with Granger and play him at the SG slot.

Christ, never mind. I just saw Bush took him. I guess I will go with Ellison. Poop.vcsgrizzfan wrote:I almost cried when Robertson was taken. Taking a break from the board. Please reference my last post for more details if you are interested.

edit: im also pissed Robertson was picked. I thought i had a chance at him.
You snatched my pick from the last round (Drexler)... so we're even now.

I will take none other than Jermaine O'Neal
He's a steal at this point.

You would think so, but for some reason, his defensive rating that season is pretty crappy. Overall, his ratings are good, but he is only a 56 that season. That's why I ended up taking Pervis over him.dwcmwa wrote:I will take none other than Jermaine O'Neal

I haven't looked at any of the ratings. Hopefully my team is good.vcsgrizzfan wrote:You would think so, but for some reason, his defensive rating that season is pretty crappy. I really don't know how the game works, so I'm just speculating on the importance of those defensive ratings. It seems the salaries are only tied to statistical production and I have no idea how they come up with the defensive ratings. I assume since they have them though, that they must come into play in the simulations.Max wrote:I haven't looked at any of the ratings. I believe the salaries are tied to stats, def. rating, and # of games played in the season. It seems players who have great stats but only played like 50 games...their salaries are much lower.vcsgrizzfan wrote:I really don't know how the game works, so I'm just speculating on the importance of those defensive ratings. Interesting. Wish I had known that, although I'm not sure it would have affected any of my picks.Ghostown42 wrote:I believe the salaries are tied to stats, def. rating, and # of games played in the season.
