There he is. Good pick.
How exactly do they calculate the DEF rating. Grant Hill is at a 63? WTF?
That's actually not that good for a SF, which was the main reason I stayed away.

This is the idea behind the calculation per the updated FAQ:

The defensive rating is based on what we call stop percentage, which is a statistical approximation of the percentage of defensive possessions where the player helps create a turnover, missed field goal, or missed free throw. This approximation is based on certain player stats (minutes, steals, fouls, rebounds and blocks), the player's position, certain team statistics (for and against), and a factor for league averages for that season.
Oh wow, that's actually a lot more in-depth than I thought it would be. I thought they'd just pull an NBA 2k and base it off reputation and steals/blocks.

Yeah, Penny and Marion both have higher DEF ratings (83 and 70 respectively) and that's why I preferred those two over Hill, but as someone said, Hill at #11 is an excellent pick.

Excuse me, but the 03/04 version of Marion which I selected has an 89 defensive rating!! He's a beast!

Not only does that sound incredibly stupid but it also sounds incredibly difficult to measure.

Marion was definitely overlooked. Good pick, grizz.

If you're asking if '11 Derek Fisher is as productive as '11 LeBron, the answer would be HELL NO.

When you pick #14, all that research is wasted.

Steve Alford is still on the board.

I hate to say it, but I had the steal of this round with Mitch Richmond.

1) We know you don't hate to say it.

2) There were several players available better than Richmond at your pick.

Just looked up Andre Iguodala. He gets screwed in defensive rating. Penny Hardaway was better than him?

No. No...

No, I don't think so. Rubio is the off-white, Hispanic, unclean type of white, and Abe likes his players Aryanized to the fullest.

I went down an Olympic wormhole this morning.

I never really paid much attention to the Games when they happened. Dig the real NBA so much more. I learned some stuff.

That's way too low in my opinion. Maybe he had a bad defensive year in '97, but I always saw him as a good defender.
