I will go Barkley as well. In part, I think he deserves it, and in part to thwart the pro Zeke delusionals.

I voted for Zeke in an earlier thread before changing my vote but he deserves a spot in the top 30 IMO.

Tempted to go with DRob, but I've been on the Isiah bandwagon for too long.
Zeke is my vote.

I'm not lying here. I started shitting on Zeke in this poll when he was first brought up.elmouse03 wrote:Well I guess I am still in delusion as I will stick with Isiah.vcsgrizzfan wrote:I will go Barkley as well. In part, I think he deserves it, and in part to thwart the pro Zeke delusionals.
Sometimes your eyes play tricks on you and you see what you want to see. I know I've been guilty. Sometimes what you see is actually pretty accurate.
I've mentioned in several of these threads I've thought Zeke's role was overrated on those Pistons teams.
Tonight, I actually went to basketball-reference.com and checked the stats on those old Pistons teams.
The numbers are very surprising. Zeke generally has the WORST differential in offensive and defensive rating on the Pistons for many of those teams, including the playoffs. It confirms what my eyes saw... those were just damn good teams and his role on them is overstated.

Interesting. Does he belong in the top 20 in your opinion?vcsgrizzfan wrote:I'm not lying here. Well then we are obviously in a stand still as nothing you say will change my mind and nothing I say will change yours but in all I am still voting for Isiah.vcsgrizzfan wrote:I'm not lying here. Barkley
Come on guys, it's Barkley.
I think some of you give too much credit for rings.
Barkley ran into the GOAT and had some injury issues, he's top 25 all time for certain.
Vote for Barkley, anything else would be uncivilized.

Perhaps you should at least go to the site and check the numbers. Like I said, we often see and remember what we want to see and remember. The facts as I remember them judged Barkley and Drob a little too harshley, but they were actually very kind to Isiah. His advanced metrics are pretty awful relative to his teammates. I know its not the be all, but its hard to ignore how bad some of them are relative to his teammates and era to be ranked so high. It's a clink, clink, clunk...elmouse03 wrote:Well then we are obviously in a stand still as nothing you say will change my mind and nothing I say will change yours but in all I am still voting for Isiah.vcsgrizzfan wrote:I'm not lying here. Brainfart... I should have asked you top 30. While I do agree he wasn't as big a standout or star as Jordan on the Bulls, Magic on the Lakers, and Bird on the Celtics I do believe he deserves top 30 status for being the leader and star on a team that was 3x Eastern Conference Champions, 2x Finals Champions, and being 1x Finals MVP. Isiah is a tricky vote though.vcsgrizzfan wrote:No, and I've been pretty adamant on that.PhutureDynasty wrote:Interesting. Does he belong in the top 20 in your opinion?vcsgrizzfan wrote:

I get what you're saying grizz, but I think you are likewise discounting the intangibles. The problem is, there's (by definition) no measure for the intangibles.vcsgrizzfan wrote:Perhaps you should at least go to the site and check the numbers. Isiah was the leader of those Pistons championship teams, and his grit and guts played a large role in those rings.
If push came to shove, in the Finals, I'd rather have Zeke than Barkley, though I know you disagree.
