I know. That's why I said heuristic, and not measurement.
Taking a break from the board. Please reference my last post for more details if you are interested.

Heuristic (/hjʉˈrɪstɨk/; Greek: "Εὑρίσκω", "find" or "discover") refers to experience-based techniques for problem solving, learning, and discovery that find a solution which is not guaranteed to be optimal, but good enough for a given set of goals. Where the exhaustive search is impractical, heuristic methods are used to speed up the process of finding a satisfactory solution via mental shortcuts to ease the cognitive load of making a decision. Examples of this method include using a rule of thumb, an educated guess, an intuitive judgment, stereotyping, or common sense.

Well he has that 1 ring why Ewing and others who we might end up putting ahead of him do not.

Robert Horry has 7 rings though so Horry > Barry?

I will argue day and night before I concede Ewing is better than Barry. There's no way Ewing is finishing higher than Barry on this list.

And Barkley doesn't have a ring. He lost against one of the best teams of all time in the Finals. Barry beat one of the worst teams of all time for his title. Luck and circumstance has a lot to do with titles sometimes.
That is what I tried to make for Baylor with the Selvy missed shot at the end of game 7 which would have won the game and title for the Lakers in 62. Well there is a reason why Ewing hasn't been nominated yet over the players that have been and y2k probably wants to wait till that list gets trimmed some before nominating anybody else.
Exactly.

D-Rob is a great case. Biggest Knocks on him is:

-relative shorter prime (24 year old rookie)

-lack of consistency in the playoffs

Yeah we'll wrap this round up in a few hours. There was a lack of votes but it was great conversation.

One more point about Baylor.

You guys kep bringing up how impressive it was to make that many finals.

Really?

Considering that there was never any teams in the west that could compete with the lakers at the time. How impressive is that? They alwats had the best team in the west by far and were always the favorites.

Is it a coincidence that the only team that could compete with the lakers at the time was the Celtics in the east? And they lost to them everytime.

If anything that should be an indictment against Baylor and West.
