Malone had far more team success with far more help than Iverson ever had, that's for sure. Plus made only 1 more finals than Iverson did. Iverson was a great passer when he he wanted to be. As evidenced by some of his assist totals.
The Malone and Baylor love is pretty unfathomable to me. Barry is greater than both them, sorry that's just the truth.
Malone and Baylor. Some gaudy regular season numbers and that's it.

Re: 2014 Anger General Greatest of All Time #19
The FMVP award is kind of joke. A lot of times they don't give it to the real mvp of the team. A lot of times the player they give the FMVP to didn't lead the team at all. Like Tony Parker winning in 06-07 or Worthy winning in 87-88. Most of those players on that list though are better than Malone and Baylor however.elmouse03 wrote:Lets see.876Stephen wrote:Like who?elmouse03 wrote:
The whole ring argument gets overblown sometimes. There are players who have lead their teams to titles who Baylor and probably Malone are way better then.

Take a look at some of the finals mvps and tell me that Baylor and/or Malone is or is not better then some of those who won it.

Malone has a couple mvp's, one of them grossly undeserved. Baylor has zero mvp's and was like 0-7 in the finals or something like that. Pretty pathetic if u ask me, especially when you play with Jerry West your whole career and Wilt Chamberlain later.
Re: 2014 Anger General Greatest of All Time #19
Everybody knows about their shortcomings but Baylor was damn close to winning a championship if not more but they just didn't have luck on their side in certain situations. To say that they were just regular season players is underrating the successes that they did have in their careers. Like I said before. The ring argument can be overblown at times and this is certainly one of those times on your part.876Stephen wrote:What else did they accomplish?elmouse03 wrote:laughable statement.876Stephen wrote:

Make the Finals SEVEN times is pathetic???
Wow, we have a sick sense of what constitutes success here, that's for sure.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are dumber than that.

This might fly if he had made the finals just once or twice like Malone but in Baylor's case he made the finals 8 times. 8 fucking times and he still couldn't win it. That just means he wasn't good enough because his teams certainly were good enough to beat Boston at least a couple times and they definetly should have beaten New York in 69-70. The bad luck excuse goes out the window on that one.elmouse03 wrote:Everybody knows about their shortcomings but Baylor was damn close to winning a championship if not more but they just didn't have luck on their side in certain situations. Nobody is disrespecting Barry because they haven't voted for him yet. People have their reasons why they are voting for who they are at that particular spot and when they feel Barry is up for the spot that they feel that he belongs he will go there.

There are lots and lots of players in NBA history who have never won a title but many people feel are very capable of leading a team to a title if need be. I am sure plenty of people have Baylor on that list. The closest he came to winning was in 62 when a wide open Frank Selvy had his shot rimmed out that could have won the game and title for the Lakers. If that is not bad luck then IDK what is.

Im just questioning the votes for Malone and Baylor. It can't be because of accomplishments but that didn't accomplish much. It must be for their skills as a players which is fine but don't be surprised if i start voting for very skilled players who don't accomplish much like Iverson for example.elmouse03 wrote:Nobody is disrespecting Barry because they haven't voted for him yet. I won't care. I enjoyed watching Iverson play when he was in his prime.876Stephen wrote:Im just questioning the votes for Malone and Baylor. Again that's just one finals. The law of averages means if you make 8 times then you should at least win one. Again it has nothing to do with luck.elmouse03 wrote:876Stephen wrote:This might fly if he had made the finals just once or twice like Malone but in Baylor's case he made the finals 8 times. 8 fucking times and he still couldn't win it. KG has 7 votes and Dirk has zero?
Dirk>KG
Baylor ahead of Dirk?
That's laughable to me.

AGREED.
I have BEEN voting for Dirk, but these idiots don't agree so I won't. Voting for Dirk alone would have no impact on the tourney, like voting for a third party presidential candidate.
Re: 2014 Anger General Greatest of All Time #19
No disrespect to Dirk but KG definitely has a very strong case to be ranked ahead of Dirk. I thought that it'd be closer but Baylor is somehow racking up votes.

I would say pretty dominant. 30.5ppg 7.5rpg 4.1apg.y2ktors wrote:The thing with Barry is: How would one value his ABA years?elmouse03 wrote:Nobody is disrespecting Barry because they haven't voted for him yet. His 2nd season in the NBA could have been the best of his career. His rookie season was the only time he averaged double digit rebounds.

Dominant, arguably the best player in ABA history. He won a title in that league as well.y2ktors wrote:The thing with Barry is: How would one value his ABA years?elmouse03 wrote:Nobody is disrespecting Barry because they haven't voted for him yet.
