Why is LeBron afraid of the dunk contest?
Isn't there fan voting now? He would probably win regardless of how he does.

Because flopping can't help him in the dunk contest.

I think that Chicago would break NBA.com because too many voters would log on to vote for LeBron's competition.

It's likely this. Attach his name to it and he'd win every year. He could literally just go there and make straight layups and still win. Not worth it really.kobeunderbite wrote:Isn't there fan voting now? He would probably win regardless of how he does.

The dunk contest is beneath Lebron.
Re: Why is LeBron afraid of the dunk contest?
I know at one point, some sponsers actually paid their players to not participate in the contest.
I think. IIRC.

Taking a break from the board. Please reference my last post for more details if you are interested.

Because he would be out there all alone..... No flopping, bail-outs, fall back options, tape confiscations and others to blame or point the finger at or hide behind when the going gets tough.
In short.....What we already know....He is a mental midget/coward with a MASSIVE inferiority complex who NEEDS to feel like the deck is stacked in his favor to keep his TBS under control.

The same reason he needed to wait for the Celtics to break down and an ultra stacked team to win his ring, he folds under pressure.

Participate or shut up you douchebag. This is the same type of deal when he claims he could drop 81 if he wanted to.

Because he wouldn't be that good and he knows it. He's not that creative of a dunker. His dunks are more about power than finesses. He would get a bunch of crap and he doesn't feel like dealing with that.

At first I thought who cares if he doesn't compete, it's just a irrelevant dunk contest, but once I read that he was running his mouth about how he'd win, I had a complete change of heart. Pretty weak to continually dodge the contest but still claim he'd win it

Re: Why is LeBron afraid of the dunk contest?
So it's not even a H2H competition anymore, huh?
Unlike previous years, the dunk contest has different rules. The biggest change: participants compete as teams, with three players representing either conference.
Joining George on the East squad is Washington’s John Wall and Toronto’s Terrence Ross. The Western Conference lineup includes Portland’s Damian Lillard, Golden State’s Harrison Barnes, and rookie Ben McLemore of Sacramento.
There will be a 90-second freestyle round, and then a battle round, where players from their respective conferences will battle head-to-head. Essentially it’s a team dunk contest, but there will be a “Dunker of the Night” award given out, as voted on by the fans.

Re: Why is LeBron afraid of the dunk contest?
Lebron is criticized enough now for every single thing he does on the court and in life. Why add to that if he were to lose the dunk contest? It would just add to more BS ripping of him by everyone.

This is the correct answer. The best hope was back in Cleveland. He's a two time champ, fuck a dunk contest.zombiesonics wrote:The dunk contest is beneath Lebron.
