Sure. But the point is that BOTH leagues were diluted.

So BOTH kinda sucked.

Problem is... do I put Petit here who was a monster playing against chain-smoking, part-time insurance salesmen/basketball players?
Havlicek, even though he was never THE best player in any league.

It's a shame West is as close to this tier as he ended up. He was clearly a class above this hodgepodge.


But I'm going with George Mikan. The NBA had to change the rules to accommodate his dominance. 5 titles in only 7 seasons. And in one of the years he didn't win... he played the entire playoffs ON A BROKEN LEG. And still averaged 20 ppg. The only other time was after he came out of retirement to rejoin the Lakers halfway through the season.

The man played with broken bones almost every season. Again... 5 titles in 7 seasons.
