Agreed. We can stick a fork in this one.

#12 should have some pretty good debate.

The only thing that has pissed me off to date is the flip of Wilt and Bird from my own personal list.

I also flipped Dream and Lebron, but that one doesn't hurt.
Taking a break from the board. Please reference my last post for more details if you are interested.

So......

:noidea:

Yeah but in that case, you have to have Pippen over Hakeem as well. And Duncan. And Bird. And Magic. You see where I'm going with this?
lol! Of Course!

But that is why this one question HAS to be answered, I asked it before, but:

How many Titles as "#2" does it take to Equal just One "Lead Dog" Title?

Once we figure that out, we know where players like Pippen belong All Time.

One thing to remember, ANYONE on Jordan's team would be the #2, so....

:noidea:
Some of Bill Russell's teammates might question that one.

That's a big problem right there, there's no such thing as lead dog rings or #2 rings, or "being carried" rings. Not all #2 options (or #1 or #7) were created equal. To say Otis Thorpe and Kobe's (first three peat) rings were of equal value is hilarious as one obviously played a much bigger role, just as 03 Duncan played a way bigger part then say Chauncey billups. Rather then relying on cliche terms like lead dog or being carried, look at the contribution the players made
In that case Pippen averaged 20/7/6 and played arguably the greatest perimeter Defense ever on six -6- Championship teams... there aren't more than 10 players who can match that resume.
"Today's NBA is soft, the Defense is weak, and the rules 'really' favor the Offense."

"Lebron doesn’t guard for a full game and our game plan was to get him to play defense and he left me open all game."

You're right, there aren't more than 10.........more like more than 20.

Quite a few more than 10 players had more of an impact to the bottom line on net than Scottie Pippen, as great as he was.

Mainly driven by major scoring differentials. Scoring in the low 20s is substantially easier than scoring in the high 20s/low 30s. That is a lot of ground to make up in other areas of the game (which Pippen definitely did for most players, but not all but 10).

Unless, of course, you're telling me that the GOAT required a top 10 all-time player to accomplish his feats. After all, we know MJ didn't win squat until Pippen arrived.

So what's all this talk about Mr. Pippen? Sorry that I am out of the loop but it just seems that some of my fellow Bulls fans are tying to rank him too/to high?

amirite?

Correct assessment. He's top 30 all-time, with a potential case to near the top 20........but TDK is just trolling by saying he should be top 10. Unless he's looking to discredit MJ's accomplishments of course.

I am a big Pippen fan and all but in no way is he top 10. Everybody knows that Pippen was a legit sidekick and you can tell that by his numbers. His scoring numbers as a #1 guy in 94 and most of 95 were not that impressive.

I think TDK is trolling about Pippen being in the top 10, but how would that discredit jordan? Did Jordan not play amazing during his career to warrent his status regardless of what Pippen did or didn't do? Both Kareem and Magic are top 5 and they played a decade together and won 5 rings.

TDK bitches about you-know-who needing all this help to win titles. It makes TDK's argument look really bad (which isn't hard to do) when he ranks MJ #1 all-time because he won 6 rings, but won't rank Lebron in the top 10 because he's a fraud who needs a bunch of help (but never had a player as good, overall, as Pippen on his team).

In short, I was trolling a troll.

All of these guys can be considered for #12:

Moses Malone
Julius Erving
Oscar Robertson
Jerry West
George Mikan

I don't think any others should be in the discussion for #12.
