Hakeem is a perfectly fine choice for number 10, by the way. He'll be in my 11th slot, in fact.
I just voted Lebron largely because he had more production on average by a pretty fair amount, and was also better than Hakeem was relative to his peers, one of the things I most look at in cross-era comparisons.
And yes, I did see "the" Hakeem play. I even saw Akeem play, for that matter.

Lebron James.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are dumber than that.

Ahh it's a little understandable that Hakeem wasn't better than Jordan. He did end up proving that he was better than all of his peers at center.Bush4Ever wrote:Hakeem is a perfectly fine choice for number 10, by the way. He'll be in my 11th slot, in fact.

His Rockets were 5-1 against the Bulls from 91-93 though.

It was a bit more than that.y2ktors wrote:

Hakeem generally hovered at the tail end of the top 5 (or back) in the MVP vote in and around his prime.
Lebron has been in the top 3 for the last six years.
Hakeem was on average about 5th in PER in and around his prime (roughly).
Lebron has basically been a runaway leader in PER for the last 7 (I think) years, minus last year, when he was 2nd.
Lebron's teams generally advanced deeper in the playoffs than Hakeem's, even during the Cav 1.0 years.
Hakeem will be my next vote, but I think they are somewhat removed from one another when you compare them against their peers. If Hakeem was an A, Lebron is an A+, so to speak.
