Assemble the best possible team you can under these rules.
Assemble the best possible team you can under these rules.
Let's see who can assemble the best team possible under the following criteria. I'll pick the ~3 best teams and place them in a poll for the title of board favorite.
Consider everything when assembling your team; chemistry, spacing, players' willingness to adopt to your offensive schemes, health, etc.
1. Can only pick one of the following players to build around:
Michael Jordan,
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Bill Russell
Magic Johnson
Wilt Chamberlain
Tim Duncan
Larry Bird
Shaquille O'Neal
Kobe Bryant
Hakeem Olajuwon
Lebron James
2. Can only pick one multiple all-star as your complimentary player (none from above list obviously)
3. Your third complimentary player could not have been an All-Star more than twice (must have played for at least 5 NBA seasons)
4. The rest of the roster is fair game as long as none of them made the all-star team
We'll go with a standard Playoff rotation so just pick starters and 3-4 bench players.

Also, is this just for one playoff run (meaning we're taking one peak year)? Or is it over multiple years (and if so, how many)?
Lastly, who are they competing against? The other teams? Or against the current league?

Wouldn't everyone's complimentary player be LeBron?

If it's one year peak, some might go Walton instead. But LeBron will be picked often I think.Max wrote:Wouldn't everyone's complimentary player be LeBron?

Haha, wow. I didn't even think of him. I was thinking Pippen, but now Lebron seems like a pretty good choice.Max wrote:Wouldn't everyone's complimentary player be LeBron?

PG: Magic Johnson (Building around him)
SG: Michael Cooper
SF: Chandler Parsons
PF: Karl Malone (Complimentary multiple all-star)
C: Roy Hibbert (2 all-star appearances)
Bench: Goran Dragic, Jamal Crawford, Serge Ibaka, Omer Asik
Tried to get a nice combination of defense, scoring, and team play.

You're going to have to add Lebron to that list.

I like it. Great choices.
Re: Assemble the best possible team you can under these rule
PG:Magic
SG:Michael Cooper
SF:Dominique Wilkins
PF:Horace Grant
C: Kevin Willis
Grant and Willis only made 1 all star team in their careers so IDK if they were allowed to be picked or not.

Correct, current rules (although refs tend to be more lenient come Playoff time.)fpliii wrote:In today's league/with current rules (I think you and I agreed 07-08 to the present is the current mini-era), correct?
As for your second question, just build what you believe is the best possible team given the circumstances (as vague as that sounds.) The AngerGeneral community will vote for the "best" team.
Note: Added Lebron to the list.

2. Can only pick one multiple all-star as your complimentary player (none from above list obviously)
Care to look over the list again?
