I believe players under a certain age are currently banned from the NBA. Isn't it 19 now?

How are those players banned if they've never been in the league?

wrong again--never banned a single player prior to joining the league
only can ban AFTER they join--and that is in the rules

find the rule or continue to look really foolish by repeating the same thing
My evidence ands facts beats your bullshit--as usual.
They can't declare a player ineligible for the draft?

lmao
Just as we all thought--this poor guy can't been read/comprehend
This is about banning a player for behavior prior to joining-everyone knows the league has rules for eligibility but they don't have anything to do with behavior

Correct!--lots of restrictions (including age) for not being able to join the league
But the NBA can't ban any player for his personal behavior prior to joining the league -that's why players with actual criminal records prior to the draft can still join

So the NBA can't prevent a person from playing in the NBA ?

What a dimwit! repeated the same question when he know he's dead wrong
THE NBA LEAGUE OFFICE CAN"T AND HASN"T EVER PREVENTED ANYONE FROM JOINING THE NBA -(other than the rules for draft eligibility -and they don't include behavior)

So Sportswise thinks that the NBA cannot prevent a player from playing in the league.

I'm glad everyone is clear.

Why is Smart not in jail? You can't just push someone. That's battery. He should be locked up.

That's the beauty of being famous. I'm sure ZombieSonics has already sent death threats to Mr. Orr.

While the fan did say he said something inapropriate, he did say it was not a racial slur.

The fact of the matter is, fans are going to talk shit during games. Smart has to suck it up. No matter what the fan said, Smart is 100% in the wrong.

Even if he did call him a n*****, you can't have basketball players pushing fans. If it was the fan pushing the basketball player, he would've been arrested. Smart's lucky he's not been arrested. Three game suspension is getting off easy. The fan could be the biggest asshole in the world, but it doesn't matter. You can't cause physical harm to a person no matter how minor the harm may be, and no matter what the circumstances are just because of words that are said.

As a child I was once taught sticks and stones break my bones but words can never hurt me. Why does this word hurt the black man so much now. To respond to this word like that the black man is playing into what the white man wants. Fact.

Haven't read through the thread, but I think the fan appears to be a piece of shit and there is plenty of blame to go around. I personally think the 3 game suspension is a little harsh. I think I would have given him one or two. That fan should be given the boot.

Smart is the piece of shit. Orr called him a piece of crap and he chimped out and attacked him, then he lies and claims Orr called him a n*gger to try and justify attacking him. Shameful. The little thug deserves longer than a 3 game ban.
