To the people saying no one should own pitbulls, should akitas, dachshunds, dobermans, chow chows, chihuahuas also die out because they average more attacks on other pets/humans then pits do. Just because they have the power and reputation to be the mean killing machines doesnt mean they all are. Just as is the same with a child, it all depends on the environment they are raised in.
The problem is the pitbulls strength. They are stronger pound for pound than the other breeds so that is why they can be more dangerous. That and they have a stubbornness that other dogs don't possess
This hits the key point. While it may be true WailuaFC that more chihuahuas attack people than pit bulls, the consequences of those attacks are generally de minimus. Pit bull attacks because of their incredible jaw strength and 'dogged' determination are often devastating.
Correct. The little "yip" dogs can be nasty, though. No large dog has ever bitten me. Small dogs have chased me, jumped up and given me little gashes on my legs while running. Sometimes they are just chasing but I've had two actually attack. But yeah - if I ran into an aggressive Pit Bull, I'd be looking for a fence or a car to jump on.

CORRECT. Send him the bill. He is responsible for the injuries sustained to your dog. Again, surprised the police weren't called. Did the owner come and get the dog? Eeesh. Hope all is okay.
24 hours later the shit has hit the fan. Police at my door, and one very upset owner. And yes we went to the neighbors house that saw it all. I will send him the bill. But this will be like pulling teeth. Will never see the money.

What did the police say after they talked to the neighbor

I gotta say, in all seriousness, not even trolling, but to say that Stars "overreacted" would be a huge understatement. He saw the dog a friggin' block away, had bought a knife with the purpose of stabbing that pitbull to death, and then it jumps up on him and BAM! It's dead. Knife wound to the jugular.

None of that sounds suspect to anyone? If a pitbull pounced on bad hip Stars, I'm supposed to believe that he had time to deftly aim his knife for the throat?

Just saying.

Rosie is a gorgeous dog. I live in a 2 flat and the upstairs neighbors have a Huskie. I kind of adopted her. I'll hear them bringing her down to let her hang in the yard for a hour and go out to play with her. It's the next best thing to actually owning a dog.

Wailua, I might have to post a pic of Ruby and Chancellor, my awesome boxers. They are mom and son and the absolute best dogs I've ever known. Channy looks a little intimidating but he is the biggest sweetheart.

Never known Stars to bullshit about anything and it hangs together for me. Apparently for a witness and the police too.

Nice Huskies are awesome, my uncle had one when I was a little kid that I used to sit on and ride around. My favorite picture from my childhood is of me and my older sister, she is sitting on a horse and I on the big ole husky, awesome dogs. Im a bit of a dog person/freak, I havent ever gone over a year and a half without one, they just truly are a mans best friend, and rosie is the best tempered dog that Ive ever owned/been owned by.

Boxers are really awesome dogs, I was looking at rescuing one from the pound before getting rosie. Please do post some pictures if you feel so inclined!

From everything I've read this dog has been a terror for a while. Attacking other dogs and needing to be tasered to be stopped. Stars saw the threat and took action to defend himself
And Macie if necessary.

He was out and the dog was loose because of his dumbass owner and charged and attacked stars and Macie.

It's easy on a message board to say "duuur just cross the street" but what is that going to do? Is the road some mythical spot that a raging dog is incapable of crossing?

Bottom line is Stars has witnesses and injuries saying it was in self defense. If it wasn't he is sitting in a jail cell right now and not at home on his computer.

I'd love to own a dog but unfortunately I am gone to many hours of the day to properly care for one. My parents still have a golden retrieve (Daisy) who I still call my dog even though I
Haven't lived home in 7 years. I go to visit mostly to see her :) she is sadly getting up there in age.

My parents and I live really close by, less then 5 minutes away, and rosie was originally supposed to be a shared dog but she immediately fell in love with me. It was very tragic when I moved to SD and she had to live with them, but the day I moved back she refused to leave my yard thinking I was gonna take her back there. Goldens are awesome dogs and if Im not mistaken can get up there in age, so youre a lucky man

Yup. She is awesome. I hope she does stick around for many more years. She recently got a clean bill of health from the Vet
