I hope you don't have any more trouble from him. He's a neighbor? Knows where you live?

Not sure. I think he lived a couple blocks down the road.
Definitely need to keep Macie in close sight then. He could be out for revenge. And he's already demonstrated poor judgement, in that he owned a pit bull to begin with.

Then he would have to get into my backyard. But thanks for the advice.

Yeah, I know you know that. I just would hate for something bad to happen to your pup, simply because of a nutter.

I've heard that many, many times. Almost as many times as I've heard about pitbulls mauling pets/children/adults.

You did what you had to do, no question. It's just a shame you had to kill the dog, who was just being a dog, just doing what's in its nature.

The real guilty party is the owner... fuckers like that need to suffer.

Nope. I do know there are a couple of places that will give some free lessons.

You should go and give it a try.

Where were you born and raised?

In most places in the south a young male learning to handle and shoot firearms is just a rite of passage. (In responsible families anyway)

The real dangers involving firearms and children is when their parents have kept them hidden and a secret all their life and then when they find them they are curious and end up hurting someone because they don't understand their purpose and how to handle them.

Then why am I still shaking. This was not like killing a possum. Or killing a Pheasant with an arrow. A dog is a pet. Better his than mine.

Couldn't agree more. Children should be made familiar with firearms, learn how to use them, and that will impress upon them that they are not toys.
