I don't know what the salary difference is between #3 this year and #1 next year but regardless like the notion goes "if you are guaranteed lottery, you go". For all the possible development, injury risk, what have you...its not worth it. Go get paid
Edit: How is the college game going to further develop a 7 footers game? He needs to go against real competition and some big bodies if he wants the best experience. Going against a 6'8" scrawny college kid can only help you so much with your game

Example: See Duncan, Tim
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are dumber than that.

Duncan's main concern was an education, not developing his post game. Hence the reason for staying.

He is upset that the Lakers are targeting Exum.

Who said that Embiid is only there to play basketball?Buckets wrote:Robceltsfan wrote:Buckets wrote:I don't know what the salary difference is between #3 this year and #1 next year but regardless like the notion goes "if you are guaranteed lottery, you go". Well if you read the article you would READ that "The Cameroon native said prior to Tuesday's win at Baylor that he didn't feel as though he was ready to make the jump to the NBA, but added after the game that it will depend largely on his development over the remainder of the season."y2ktors wrote:Who said that Embiid is only there to play basketball?Buckets wrote:Robceltsfan wrote:

So the man himself stated that basketball development is his main concern. On the other hand Duncan openly stated he wanted to finish his education thats why he was staying despite being projected as #1 the year earlier.

We're talking about a freshman vs a jr. The situation is understandable for Tim. Besides he's a bright dude. But Embiid may actually want to stay other than just basketball-related issues is what I'm getting at.Buckets wrote:Well if you read the article you would READ that "The Cameroon native said prior to Tuesday's win at Baylor that he didn't feel as though he was ready to make the jump to the NBA, but added after the game that it will depend largely on his development over the remainder of the season."y2ktors wrote:Who said that Embiid is only there to play basketball?Buckets wrote:

Any injury at all could knock him out of the top ten and impact his future earning potential. I think it is a bad business decision to stay in college. You can always go back to school. The mind doesn't age as fast as the body does.
